BENTON
At Lancaster, N.H., ex-Congressman Jacob Benton was thrown by his runaway team, receiving injuries from which he died two hours later. His widow is a daughter of Neal Dow of Maine.

COLBURN
Mrs. Colburn A Suicide
    Lancaster N.H., Nov. 29-The body of Mrs. Mary J. Colburn, widow of Rev. H.H. Colburnof Dalton, who disappeared from her home in that village last Monday night, was found in the Connecticut river yesterday. Mrs. Colburn has been despondent and undoubtedly committed suicide.

COLBY
Enoch L. Colby, a prominent citizen of Lancaster, N.H., died on Tuesday at the age of 62 years. He was high sheriff of Coos county for fifteen years. (December 22, 1875, The Fitchburg Sentinel, Fitchburg Massachusetts submitted by S. Williams)

GRISWOLD
Boston Lawyer Killed
    Lancaster, N.H., July 29-Loren E. Griswold, a Boston attorney, died here from injuries received in an accident at North Stratford. Griswold was crossing the railroad tracks on a bicycle when he was run down by a train. One of his legs was cut off and his bead badly bruised.

Too Close To Bonfire
    Lancaster, N.H., May 12-While tending a bonfire in her yard, Mrs. Charles Howe's clothing was ignited by the flames, and she was so badly burned about the hands and lower portion of her body that she died last night.

    Lancaster, N.H., Sept. 1-Ephraim Morse, 55 years old, a farmer and life-long resident of Lancaster, was gored by an ox, from the effects of which he died in 15 minutes.

WESSON
A Respected Citizen Commits Suicide
Lancaster, N.H., March 6(?)-Anson F. Wesson, one of Lancaster's old and respected citizens committed suicide by hanging in his carriage house. He was about 70 years old, and had been a member of North Star Lodge of Masons for the past thirty years.
