The Concord N.H. stage was recently
overset at Charleston, Mass. The forehorse became entangled in the reins
and unmanageable, which caused the whole to set out on a run on the side
of the road and the stage was precipitated over a bank eight or ten feet
perpendicular, making a perfect somerset, the wheels passing over the
heads of the passengers. The carriage was literally stripped to atoms –
the leg of one horse was broken in the succeeding flight – but not a hair
of the head of one of the five passengers was injured. – Boston
