David Brigham m. (l) Mar 2l, 1766, Mary Maynard dau of Deacon Benjamin Maynard. She died with her infant Nov l0, 1766. He m. (2) Oct 13, 1768 Martha Chamberlain of Westboro; settled at Shrewsbury where he died 1824. Aged 80. David's children by his 2d wife, Martha Chamberlain: (p.81)

A few years before his death he gave to the Wisconsin Historical Society the celebrated "Old Gun" brought from England to New England in l640 by John Prescott the emigrant and frequently used by him to fight the Indians and which several were brought to "bite the dust". This gun was given by him to his (oldest) son John and by him to his son John and by him to his daughter, Tabitha Prescott who married (1) Aaron Sawyer and (2) Silas Brigham and she gave it to her grandson named (above) Prescott Brigham, who disposed of it as stated above.Children of Prescott Brigham and Hannah (Rider) Prescott:

9. Ebenezer Brigham b. Apr 28, 1789. Removed to Blue Mounds, Dane County, WI in 1828 where he was the 1st settler and where in 1828 he discovered valuable minerals. He was many years a member of its legislature (WI) and the one that selected Madison as the site for the capital.
