Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday July 10, 2006 at South Park Cemetery for James Wesley “Dobber” Coats who died July 7, 2006 at Eastern New Medical Center.

            Dobber was born on August 30, 1922 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to James and Ella Allen Coats.

            Jack Ferguson will officiate the service.

            The Roswell Veterans Honor Guard will conduct a military graveside services.

            Dobber owned and operated Coats Plumbing in Dexter for 30 years.  He was a longtime member of the Dexter Volunteer Fire Department and was of Baptist faith.

            Dobber is survived by his son Vic Coats and his wife Sharon of Dexter, New Mexico, daughter; Judy Pilley and husband Jim of Hagerman, New Mexico, brother; Sam Coats and wife Imogene of Dexter, New Mexico.  He had four grandchildren; Allen Coats, and Brent Coats both of Dexter, New Mexico and Jett Pilley and Jana Lucero both of Hagerman, New Mexico.

            He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; his parents; one brother and two sisters.

            Memorial contributions can be made to ones favorite charity.

            Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory.
