Jane Wolfe Oldrup, 80 died Tuesday morning, July 18 at her home
following a long illness. She was born
Feb. 1, 1926, the daughter of
Frances Bear Wolfe Kyte, a prominent
Roswell journalist, and Lawrence Wolfe, and
the granddaughter of Mr. Mars. R.H. Wolfe of Tillar,
Ark., and Harvey and Grace Thorp Bear of
Roswell, all deceased.
Jane attended Roswell Public Schools, graduating from
Roswell
High School in 1943. Her mother and
father also graduated from

Cross Nurse Aide at St. Mary’s Hospital during World War II. She and
Roy “Ole” Oldrup were married
Aug. 25, 1946, at First
Presbyterian Church of Roswell, where they were active members of the church for
many years.
Active in many community affairs, Jane was a member of the
Roswell Reading Club and a founding member of the National Society of The
Colonial Dames of America in the State of
New Mexico. For many years, she worked on
her family genealogy, which was of great interest and satisfaction to her. She
often said she could not believe how many cousins she discovered.
Her husband and her granddaughter, Lisa Oldrup, preceded her in
death.
Survivors include her son, Larry Oldrup, and her daughter, Jane
Ann Oldrup; her grandson Erik Oldrup of
Nogales,
Arizona; two cousins, Bob Bear and his family
of
Houston,
Texas, and Jerry Bear and his family, of
El Paso,

Fla.
The most important things in her life were faith, family, and
friends. She was grateful to God for all of her blessing. She and “Ole” had 46
years together, she often said they were her happiest.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church
on Friday morning, July 21 at
9:30. The family suggests in lieu of
flowers, contributions may be made to the VFW, the First Presbyterian Church or
Vista Care Hospice. Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory are handling
arrangements.
