A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Ballard Funeral Chapel for Jose Angel DeLaPena, 85 of Roswell, who passed away July 16, 2006 at a local nursing home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at St. John’s Catholic Church  Fr. Juan Montoya O.F.M. will officiate.  Interment will follow the service at South Park Cemetery.

            Jose was born on October 2, 1920 in Villa Ahuamada, Mexico to Jesus and Josephina Solis DeLaPena.  They both preceded him in death.

            His survivors include his sons, Rene DeLaPena of Leesburg, VA, Raudel DeLaPena of Mesa, AZ, Mario DeLaPena of Mesa, AZ, and Sergio DeLaPena of Colorado Springs, CO, one sister, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

            Pallbearers will be his sons, and grandsons.

            Viewing will be held from 2 p.m. till 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Ballard Funeral Chapel.
