1870 In Michigan – Fannie Born 
1872 In Wyoming Territory – Nellie Born 

1875 In Wyoming Territory – Bert Born 
1876 Arrived Raton Area….homesteaded Ranch in Sugarite 
1877 Charlie Born – either Wyoming Territory or Raton 

1881 Came into Raton – Mabel Born 

1883 Came into Raton, stayed in log cabin where Grace was Born 
1884 – 1890 Probably at some point lived in Catskill for 2 years I’m guessing he lived in Catskill and 
then in 1890 moved back to Sugarite 
1890 Catskill became a full blown town with school, etc. 
1890 Had Raton P.O. Box (lived in Sugarite) 

1894 Tom & J.C. Wilson Come to NM & homestead around Chico Springs 
1894 Railroad strike in Colfax County 

1899 Rest of Wilson family came 
1900 John & Cynthia Lillie Living in Chico Springs with Grace Going to school there 
1900 Grace & J.C. Wilson Married in Raton and living in Chico Springs 

1902 Charles Wilson Born in Chico Springs 
1903 Date of another Lillie Homestead in Chico Springs 
1904 J.C., Grace, John, and Cynthia moved into Raton (John & Cynthia living on Mesa Ave, JC & Grace 
living at 420 S. 2nd) 

1905 Fannie Wilson born in Raton 

1908 John Wilson born in Raton 
1908 John Lillie death 
1909 Sugarite Mine found, cattle grazing & ranches still going on 

1920-26 Charles Wilson living in Sugarite 
1920-23 JC, Grace, Fannie live in Kiowa and then Dedman 
1926? Charles moved to Texas 
1927 J C falls ill (at some point in 1926/27 Sugarite land was traded to City of Raton for La Mesa land & 
land in Raton along 1st street) JC runs 2nd hand store on 1st street 
1928 Cynthia Lillie died 
1929 JC died 

1940 Tom Wilson filed lawsuit against Charles, Fannie, Henrietta, Henry, Nellie, and Steve for a portion 
of William Henry’s land and demanded that the land apportionments be fenced off. 
1940’s Grace paid taxes through 1940’s for Chico Land (John Lillie’s land) 
1941 Sugarite closed, but during the time that Sugarite mines were open Cattle grazing was still going on 
along with the ranches still being there. 
1941-1944 Sometime during this time period Sugarite area was given to the City by the Railroad 

1946 La Mesa Racetrack….land bought and racetrack built 

1951 Grace Wilson died
