Ruth F. Blevins

Funeral services for Ruth Fant Blevins will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2011, at Chapel of Hope, officiated by Dr. Don Holladay. Ruth died December 20, 2011, at a local nursing home. She was born June 18, 1916, in Linden, TX, to John and Rosa Fant. She married Jesse Guy Blevins, Jr. in Marshall, TX, in 1946.
Ruth was an English teacher at Hobbs High School for 15 years, 1969 – 1984. She was a Pink Lady for the Ladies Auxiliary at Lea Regional Hospital until she was 80. She enjoyed playing bridge, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Guy Blevins, and wife Debbie, of Katy, TX; granddaughter, Katie Blevins, of State College, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, J. Guy Blevins, two brothers and three sisters.
