Ollie Irvin Boyd, was born in
Brownwod, Texas, 25 September 1891, the son of Asa Lee and Claudia Middleton
Boyd. He came to the New Mexico territory in 1908, when he was seventeen years
old.
Ollie recieved his education in the Public Schools of San
Angelo, Texas and Eunice, New Mexico. The Boyd homestead located seven miles
southeast of Eunice is now occuoied by Fred Boyd.
Ollie, a great lover of growing unusual fruits and vegetables,
established himself well in the art of grafting and growing various fruit trees
to produce the most enjoyable fruits. Ollie and Mallie now reside near Dillard,
Oregon.
Ollie I. Boyd married February 23, 1915 to Miss Mallie Johnson, a
native of Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Johnson.
Mr. and Mrs. Boyd were the parents of seven children: Wilna; Alfred
Genn; Ruby Nell; Fred; Floyd; Leonard and Murldean Boyd.
Fred Wyatt Boyd was married August 14, 1950 to Miss Annie Merle
Henderson, the daugter of James Elmer and Maude Estelle Henderson. They had two
sons: James Irvin and Kenneth Wayne Boyd.
Kenneth Wayne passed away February 4, 1974 and his wife Shirley
Campbell Boyd, along with their two children, Kendall and Kelly, also reside on
the original homestead.
