Hibbits, James S. and Vina L. Wiggins

James S. Hibbits was born near Eldorado, Monroe Co., Iowa on March 16, 1863.
Vina L. Wiggins was born near Buffalo, Dallas Co., Missouri, November 20, 1865.
James S. Hibbets and Vina L.Wiggins were married March 13, 187 at Lundell Kansas. From this union four children were born; Oscar W. in 1888, Noble L. in 1893, Fred C. and Mary Marea, twins, in 1899. All of the children except Boble L., died before the age of two.
After moving from Kansas to Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas, James S. Hibbets, his wife Vina and son Noble moved to Plainview, New Mexico and homesteaded in 1913. Father and son weere engaged in farming and frieght hauling.
James Hibbets owned and operated the "J.S. Hibbrts Cash Store" in Plainview; this was a general store which included the post office. He served as postmaster until about 1918 when he and his wife moved to Roswell, New Mexico. They lived in Roswell until his death in January 1922.
Noble L . Hibbets married Agnes E. Woodward January 23, 1916, at Plainview, N.M. in the home of her parents J.A.and Eva Woodward.
Noble and Agnes operated the store and post office in Plainview after the elddrHibbets moved in 1918. Agnes was appointed postmistress and served in that capacity for several years.During the years in Plaiinview thier three children were born; Homer Noble, Nolan Lawrence and Owetta Marie.
The Hibbets family, inluding Vina Hibbets, moved to Lovington in 1929, All of the children grew up there and attended elementary and High School, before marrying and moving to other places. Mrs. Agnes Hibbets lived in Lovington until 1974 when she moved to Midland, Texas.
Noble L. Hibbets died April 1, 1946 and is interred in Lovington, N.M.; Mrs. Vina L Hibbets died October 4, 1946, is buried in Roswell, N.M., Noble L. Hibbets, son of Nolan and Agnes died March 18, 1972 in Gretna, Louisiana.
