Lea

A discontinued oil settlement on state road 176 at a point about 26 miles southwest of Hobbs; once claimed several hundred residents as a results of oilfield activity, had a post office from 1929 until 1931; townsite of Skeen nearby was surveyed but never developed. Named for Lea County.
