Nannie Moreman

Marian and MeDora Moreman came to New Mexico in 1911. Along with six sons and two daughters, they built up a snmall ranch and hauled frieght from POst, Texas. The boys were pretty good carpenters and a few of the houses they built still remain in the Prairieview community. Most of the children homesteaded along the state line east of Lovington in a community called Midway.
Miles, fourth from the oldest, just homesteaded just inside the New Mexico line north of what is now called the Plais cutt-oof.
Mary Lou Frishe had moved to the same community from Lee County, Virginia in 1908 with five sons and seven daughters. Mr. Spears had passed away in Greenville, Texas.
Nannie, next to the youngest daughter, homesteaded in the same area as Miles.
Miles and Nannie were married February 14, 1914, in Plains, Texas. They operated a small grocery store and Post Office in the one-room and "lean-to" on the homestead of Mr.. Miles.  They had two children.
Clover, born Jan 4, 1915 in New Mexico and June, born June 7, 1919 in Lakeview, Texas.
Miles died March 31, 1972 and Nannie died September 10, 1973.
