Lea

Lea, a discontinued oil settlememnt on State Road 176 at a point about 26 miles southwest of Hobbs, New Mexico: once claiming several hundred residents as a result of oilfield activity, a post office was established in 1929 and discontinued in 1931. Lea was named for Lea County.

A nearby township named Skeen was surveyed but never developed.
