Lyle Austin Barron was born the 4th December 1934, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. His father, Emmett Barron, was nest to the youngest son of Alma Harlan Barron who was the oldest son of Caleb Barron. Lyle Barron has two sons, David Emmett and Robert Edward.  Emmett was the last of the Barron family that homesteaded in Lea County (then Eddy) to reside in New Mexico. He died 15 July 1981 and is buried beside his first wife Arte Willis Barron in the Carlsbad Cemetery. (see Eddy County History Book, 1981 for Barron and Willis memorials).

The Barron Drilling Company Inc. came into existence in the early forties and ceased operations in 1980, shortly before Emmett died. It was a family enterprise and the office was in the home on Willis Street, no longer a street in Carlsbad. These were the years that Lyle was in high school and while he was attending New Mexico State University. He received his BSME in 1957 and then served in the USAF in training at Randolph Field in San Antonio, Texas. In 1968 Lyle earned his Juris Doctor in Law at Denver University. He and his wife, Shirley Eyre, live in Lakewood where Lyle has his law practice.

Lyle Barron and Geraldine Griffin were married while they wee attending NMSU. Their daughter Michaela is a graduate of Western State College of Colorado at Gunnison, 1978. She lives in Hollywood Florida. David and Robert are younger than Mickey. They live in the Denver area.
