I am Betty Louise (Seifried) Cox, born 17 October 1949, at Seminole, Oklahoma; the only child of Albert E. and Mary Elizabeth (Wages) Seifried, of Eunice, New Mexico. We moved to Lea County in 1959 from Seminole. My parents were married 24 February 1940 at Ada, Oklahoma. Albert was born 10 June 1915 at Canton, Oklahoma, the son of John Wesley and Susie Emaline (Boering) Seifried. Albert has one sister: Mabel Viola Vulgamore (she has one son), and one brother, John Wesley Jr. (he has two boys and one girl.)

Mary was born 25 April 1913 in Hale County, Texas, south of Plainview. She is the daughter of William T. “Will” and Margaret Luella “Lula” (Gray) Wages. She had five brothers and three sisters; Harvey, Ernest, Albert, Harrison, Jesse, Nellie, Lucy and Clara. All are deceased except Harrison of Norman, Oklahoma and Nellie Hunter of Odessa, Texas.

I married Charles “Jackie” Cox 27 December 1965 at Hobbs, New Mexico. Jackie was born 1 january 1944 at Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is the son of Charles Marvin and Wanda Ruth (Mouser) Cox. They moved to Texas from Kansas. Jackie’s father was born 6 April 1917 at Spur, Texas, the son of John Henry and Dora (Bingham) Cox. His mother was born 4 August 1924 in Bosque County, Texas, the daughter of Jack Henry and Maybelle (Moore) Mouser. Jackie has one brother M. H. Cox, and one sister, Dora Mae.

Jackie and I have three boys and one girl: Charles Albert Cox, born 13 March 1966; Jimmy Dale Cox, born 17 August 1967, died 2 December 1967; Ruth Elizabeth Cox, born 9 November 1973. Charles and Jimmy were both born in Hobbs. Jimmy is buried at Eunice Cemetery. Both Ruth and Jackie Ray were born in Georgetown, Texas. We are making our home in Leander, Texas, 30 miles north of Austin, Texas.
