The Crossroads townsite was established by Mr. C.W. Kinsolving and partner, Jack Dean about 1946-1947 at about the time the oil boom hit the Crossroads area. Oil was discovered on the U.D. Sawyer ranch located seven or eight miles east of Crossroads. The old Crossroads (Jenkins) graveyard is located about four and one-half miles west and one mile north of the Crossroads post office. The graveyard probably has forty or more graves. Ms. Lula Burkham, a long time resident of the community and who was in her eighties at the time of her death in 1948-1949, was the last person to be buried there. The Crossroads Women's Extension Club marked the graves that did not have gravestones with large rocks.
