Lea County Officials 1975-1983

At the time of the creation of Lea County in 1917, all officials were appointed by the Governor, Dick Dillon, to serve from June 1, 1917 to December 31, 1918. Beginning in 1918 officials were elected in the even numbered years for two years. Thus, the first elected  officials began their terms on January 1, 1919. Officials are listed by year in which their term began, not year elected.
