9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Centennial commemorative Cookbooks, commemorative coins and quilt raffle tickets on sale at Park 10 a.m. Parade begins at east Avenue D, to Commercial to Park 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reception for Pioneer families at Methodist Church 3 to 5 p.m. Old-timers games at Park 9 p.m. Fireworks display at Park
July 5th events
2 to 4 p.m. Longhorn cattle drive on the Courthouse square 4 to 6 p.m. Games, beard growing and costume contests at Lea County Museum, east side of square 5 p.m. Chuck wagon Barbecue by Jerry Slaton at Lea County Museum, east side of square 6 p.m. Recognition of sponsors and pioneers 7 to 11 p.m. Street dance featuring Leon Rausch and the Texas Playboys, Courthouse square
