By: Bobby Lee Pearce

My name is Bobby Lee Pearce and I was born at Carlsbad, New Mexiico. My parents were Marguarite (Thompson) Pearce and William B. Pearce. I came to Jal, New Mexico, Lea County, in 1931 because my parents were living there. My parents were married in 1927 in Seminole, Texas. They moved to Wink, Texas. They followed the oil boom from Wink to Jal

My grandfathers and grandmothers were Manning and Curtis Thompson, and Alfred and Margaret Pearce.

My spouse's parents are Searle and Irene Dyer, who also came to Jal for the oil boom. He worked and retired with Texas-New Mexico Pipe Line Company.

My wife Daphana Dyer and I both graduated from Jal High School, and were then married. We lived in Jal until December 1965, then moved to Eunice, New Mexico, and we are still living here. I work at Getty Oil Company plant #1, and Daphana works at Johnston Construction.

We have two children, one boy and one girl. Bobbie Gayle Thompson, our daughter, is a Registered Nurse at St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo, Texas and has two little boys, Cody Zane Thompson age nine, and Justin Wade Thompson, age six.

Our son Guy Manning and his wife , Lisa (Gentry) Pearce, live in Hobbs with their softball team, Gentry Rene', age two years, and twins Ashley and Emily, seven months old.
