Clabe and Luann lived west of Eunice on the San Simon Ranch. where Clabe is employed. Luann is employed by Eunice Municipal Schools.

Clabe 27, was born in Midland, Texas. His parents John and Billie Pearson were then ranching in Reagan County. At the age of nine, Clabe and his folks and younger brother, Tommy, moved to Lovington. Then in 1966 they moved back to the San Simon.

Luann, the youngest daughter of Jim and Billie Hubbard was born in Kermit, Texas in May of 1956. In 1959 Jim and Billie and thier three children, Bob, Gini, and Luann moved to Hobbs where, Jim was employed by Humble (now know as Exxon).

Clabe finished high school in Eunice in 1974, where he was listed in Who's Who. Always active in the Alerican Junior Rodeo Association. Clabe was Reserve World Champion Calf Roper in 1973, losing by only $32 to Roy Cooper. In 1974/75 Clabe was awarded the first Rodeo Scholarship ever given by New Mexico Junior College. He attended the Junior College two years, then continued his education at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas where he was also given a Full Scholarship. Clabe competed in the College National Finals Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana in 1978.

Luann graduated with Honors from Hobbs High School in 1974. After attending Junior College for one year, Luann went to work full time in Hobbs. Then in 1977, she moved to Odessa, Texas to work for a C.P.A. firm. Jim and Billie had moved to Odessa in 1974, so Luann was back home for a little while.

On October 21, 1987 Clabe and Luann were married at the Northside Baptist Church in Hobbs, five years and one day from the day they first began dating. They moved to the ranch, where Clabe had been employed full time since finishing school.

Clabe and Luann are now both active in rodeoing; Clabe has recently taken up single steer roping and is a director in a newly formed amateur tripping association. Luan is a director of the Tex-Mex Barrel Racing Association. They also enjoy snow skiing and Luann plays racquetball several days a week.

Luanj and Clabe's plans for the future are to continue to live and work at the ranch, a life they both enjoy and appreciate.
