Polio Strikes Twice in Lovington, NM

Residents of Lovington were shcocked Monday to learn that two cases of Polio was reported in town.
Young Jimmy Erwin, son of Mr. nnd Mrs. Dave Erwin of the Household Supply was rushed to Plainview Sanitorium and Clinic after it was learned that he was a victom. Young Erwin took sick on the 16th of August, but his fever was never over 101 and he showed no symptoms of polio until the 25th. He is reported to be unable to walk at the present time, but is not in serious condition. It was thought that he would not be greatly impaired in walking, but would possible have a light limp. Mrs. Audrey Kennitz, worker for the infantile foundations said that at the present time, they did not know which leg woulf be affected.
The second victom is Phyllis Glover, who is reported to be improving and will not leave Lovington at the present time for treatment.
