Formed in 1852 as one of the nine original counties of New Mexico
Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico
It is the county seat of Santa Fe County. The elevation
of Santa Fe is nearly 7,000 feet above sea level compared with approximately 5,352 feet for Albuqerque.
Sante Fe is the ending point of the 800 mile Sante Fe Trail.
