January 18, 1882 - "Uncle" Charles Ludlam, a prominent citizen of Dennisville, in this county, now a hale old gentleman in the 85th year of his age, on one occasion in his young manhood days tramped on foot from Louisville, Ky., to Baltimore, Md., a distance of 600 miles. "Uncle Charlie" is good on the walk yet.

Philadelphia Inquirer, Oct. 29, 1906 - The Cape May County Board of Freeholders has invited bids for the erection of a new hospital at the County Almshouse. [Submitted by C. Horton.]Wisconsin State Journal September 17, 1889 - At Cape May, N. J., early yesterday morning, the new Columbia hotel and Koenig'a beer garden were destroyed by fire, entailing a loss of $75,000.[Contributed by Barbara Ziegenmeyer]
