Railway Pay Car Robbed
Secaucus, N.J., Jan. 9 – Bandits held up and robbed the pay car of the Public Service company of Newark here today and escaped. New Jersey police have been notified that the robbers, fleeing in a small Sedan-body automobile, departed in the direction of Jersey City.

Still of Death Takes Toll of Nine Lives
Hoboken, N.J., Jan. 11 – A still of death, whose poisoned liquor has killed nine men along the water front was being sought by Hoboken police and federal enforcement agents today.
The amateur bootlegging distillery is believed to be concealed in a private house in Hoboken. Six men all of whom had obtained “brandy” from a saloon keeper on River street, and the proprietor himself, died from wood alcohol poisoning. One man died Saturday and the ninth was found dead today.
