Mrs. L.A. Mathews
April 12, 1882 - Just before the death of Mrs. L.A.
Mathews, of Lake Wood, N.J., her sight, of which she had been deprived several
years, was restored. She was 103 years of age, and she left fifty living
grandchildren and ninety great grandchildren.

POWELL
Prophetstown: - Mrs. F. G. Weldman has
received word that her brother, Rae Powell, 66, Waretown, N.J., died Tuesday
evening. Powell lived for one year in Prophetstown following World War I
while he was convalescening from injuries received in the war. He married
Ruby Garnes Powell on June 22, 1911. Surviving are his wife, three children,
Mrs. Hai Duello, Philadelphia; Robert, Bettendorf, Iowa, and Richard, Chicago;
four sisters, Mrs. James Madden, Utica; Mrs. Verna Seitzinger, DeKalf; Mrs.
Earl Topper, Erie, and Mrs. Weldman, Prophetstown; one brother, Claude, Lake
Ozarks, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one
sister. Funeral services will be held Friday in Barnegat, N.J., in the Bugbee

At West Palm Beach Fla. last Friday Miss Deborah Woolley of Lakewood, N.
J. was instantly killed by falling down the elevator shaft of the Royal Poinciana
Hotel. Miss Woolley was about 20 years of age.
