NO LONGER AROUND ... The old Marsh homestead was located at the junction of Elm Avenue and West Main Street. The colonial structure with a gambrel Dutch roof, dormers, clapboard and symmetrical windows was built in 1730. Its chimneys are typical of the Georgian period and fountations was constructed from fieldstone. This picture was taken from one of the Moore postal cards.
Note: This was the house of Samuel Marsh, born 1700 and died December 13, 1773. This is my direct ancestor, Sara Hemp. [Rahway News-Record, Rahway, New Jersey, July 3, 1974]
