JOHNSON, Charles H.

Charles H. Johnson, formerly of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, July 5th at his home in Bringhamton, N.Y.  Pneumonia was the cause of death.  He was borth in the year of 1881 in Stepney, Conn. and came to this city when a small boy and resided here most of his life.  He was the son of the late John H. and Julia E. Johnson.  He had devoted his last 20 years to the hat renovating business in Binghamton N.Y.

Beside his wife, he is survived by one brother, Edward, of Binghamton, N.Y. and one sister, Mrs. Charles Bogardus of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.  Interment took place on Wednesday, July 8, in Binghamton, N.Y.

She Was An Active Member of Black River Methodist Episcopal Church and Directed Choir Until Time of Her Illness – Funeral Will Be Held Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Black River. Oct. 15 – Miss Mildred A Loomis, 35, daughter of the late Arthur E. Loomis and Mary Schell Loomis, died at her home in Black River Saturday after a long illness. Miss Loomis underwent an operation at the House of Good Samaritan last March and was again confined to the hospital in May and June.
Miss Loomis for several years had been a teacher in the John C. Thompson school in Watertown, having previously taught seven years at Black River, where she had charge of the music and primary grades.
She was a graduate of the Black River High school and Watertown Training school and had studied music at New York university and at Lasell Seminary, near Boston. Miss Loomis was an active church worker being a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Black River. She was a member of the choir and choir director up to the time of her first illness. She was also a member of the Queen Esther and Y. P. B. and of Crescent Rebekah lodge of Black River and the Grade teachers association of Watertown.
Miss Loomis is survived by her mother and one sister, Mrs. Gordon House, all of Black River.
Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Episcopal church Tuesday afternoon at 1. Rev. Joseph Parkin, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Black River.
