Address. Brockport. N. Y. Assemblyman, representing the Assembly district composed of the counties of Fulton and Hamilton, the only district in the State embracing more than one county. He was born In the town of Jay. Essex County. N. Y.. Oct. 19, 1855, and was educated In the common schools and the.academy at Elizabethtown, N. Y. taught school several terms; in 1877 entered the law department of Michigan University and graduated In 1879 with the degree of LL.B. He returned to his home in Jay ant. In the spring of 1882 settled at Wells. Hamilton County. N. Y. He was admitted to the bar of this State In 1883. and soon after, as the Republican candidate, was elected county judge of Hamilton County, when the county was strongly Democrate, and served In that office for six years. In Jan.. 1890. he removed to Johnstown. Fulton County. N. Y.. and commenced the practice of law there; he has remained there in the active practice of law since that time. He has always been an active Republican, and has been chairman of the Republican district committee. Was elected to the Assembly in 1901 and 1902, and in 1903 was appointed a member of the following Assemblycommittees: Codes. Fish and Game, and Revision. Address, Johnstown, Fulton County.
