The Daily Messenger, Canandaigua, New York, 11 Jan 1922
     At St. Mary’s church this morning at 8 o’clock took place the marriage of Miss Jane Mary Sennett of West avenue and Emory N. Wells of Granger street, Rev. W.H. Darey, rector of the church officiating. Attendants were Miss Clara B. Condon and Ernest Murray both of this city.
     Mr. and Mrs. Wells will reside at 64 Bristol street.

Ross-Martin

      At the Baptist parsonage in West Gibson street last evening took place the marriage of Miss Elizabeth Leah Ross, daughter of Mrs. Katherine Ross, of Pleasant street and Frank Dewey martin, of Canandaigua. Rev. George E. Finlay performed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Martin are on a trip to Springfield, Mass.

     Announcement has just been made of the marriage at Geneva on December 27 of Mrs. Addie Rogers of Corning and Rev. John H. Seeley of Painted Post. Rev. Harvard Griffith performed the ceremony.

     Announcement was made yesterday of the marriage of Arthur Carlson and Miss Margaret Murphy, both of Phelps, the ceremony having taken place on December 21 at the Methodist Episcopal parsonage. Rev. E.W. Wallis officiating.

     Mrs. Henry Ward Morgan, of Rochester, has announced the marriage of her sister, Miss Carolyn V. Booth, formerly of Canandaigua, to George Eugene Hartell, of Rochester, the ceremony having taken place in New York City on Saturday. After February 1, Mr. and Mrs. Hartell will reside at 21 Girton Place, Rochester. The bride was for a number of years a member of Canandaigua city schools faculty.

     Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Bertha Joan Ernisse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Ernisse, to Winston F. Churchill, both of Rochester, which took place in that city Saturday. The groom is well known in Canandaigua, having spent many summers with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Churchill, at Cottage City.

GOLDEN WEDDING OF PHELPS COUPLE
MR. AND MRS. JOHN V. SALISBURY CELEBRATE THEIR FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY AT THE HOME OF SON
     Mr. and Mrs. John V. Salisbury celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary at the home of their son, J. Lewis Salisbury, north of Phelps, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Salisbury are living on the farm where Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Salisbury began housekeeping fifty years ago and lived for twenty years. More than 50 relatives were present. Dinner was served. At Mrs. Salisbury’s table were three guests who attended the wedding half a century ago. They were Winfield S. Stryker, of Phelps, a brother of Mrs. Salisbury; Frank Whitebeck, of Palmyra, and Mrs. Sarah Burnette, of Auburn.
     The rooms were decorated with daffodils and ground pine and palaz leaves. The table decorations were gold and white. The favors for each guest were photographs of the bride and groom. The dinner was followed by toasts, vocal selections and a poem to suit the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Salisbury were married in Oaks Corners by Rev. A.T. Youngs, at that time pastor of the Presbyterian church of Oaks of Corners. All their married life has been spent in the town of Phelps. They now reside on the farm where Mr. Salisbury was born and which was also the birthplace of his mother, Elizabeth Vandermark, in 1813.
     To Mr. and Mrs. Salisbury were born three children, F.A. Salisbury, J.L. Salisbury and Miss Anna M. Salisbury, all residing in Phelps. They also have four grandsons. The couple is in good health. Mrs. Slaisbury is 76 years old and Mr. Salisbury is 78 years old. They are members of the Presbyterian church. Mr. Salisbury being an elder and Mrs. Salisbury a teacher in the Sunday school in which work she has been active for more than sixty years.
