Frank Milton Bristol
Bristol, Frank Milton, clergyman, author, was born Jan. 4, 1851, in Orleans County, N. Y. He is now pastor of the metropolitan methodist episcopal church of Washington, D. C. He is the author of Providential Epochs; The Ministry of Art; and Shakespeare and America.

Richard B. Chase

CHASE, Richard B., born, Medina, N. Y., Feb. 7, 1870; son of Noah Clark and Estelle (Sherman) Chase; educated in public schools of Chicago and at military academy; married at Chicago, Dec. 25, 1895, Minna Berlet. Was general agent refrigerator car department Gould System Ry. Lines at Kalamazoo, 1889, Chicago, 1890, Atlanta, Ga., 1893, Dallas, Tex., 1897, Detroit, 1900; became interested in coal mining property in Ohio which led to organization of firm of Ayres & Chase, of which he is a member, identified with mining property in Canadian territory. Member Michigan, Indiana and Ohio Coal Association, Cleveland Coal Club, Ontario (Can.) Coal Association. Christian Scientist. Member Palestine Blue Lodge, F. & A. M., Michigan Sovereign Consistory, Mystic Shrine. Recreations: Fishing, lawn tennis. Office: 214 Hammond Bldg. Residence: 44 Ferry Av.,W.

Richard H. Fyfe
FYFE, Richard Henry, merchant, banker; born, Oak Orchard Creek, N.Y., Jan. 5, 1840; son of Claudius L. and Abby (Gilbert) Fyfe; educated in public schools; married at Detroit, Mich., 1868, Abby L. Rice. Located with parents in Michigan, 1852; came to Detroit from Hillsdale, 1857; began active career as clerk in store; entered boot and shoe business as R. H. Fyfe, 1865, later admitting partner; senior member R. H. Fyfe & Co., retail boots and shoes. President Citizens' Savings Bank. Independent Republican. Lighting commissioner for seven years; trustee of Detroit College of Medicine since its organization. Clubs: Detroit, Old Club. Office: 183-185 Woodward Av. Residence, 939 Woodward Av. Clayton A. Grinnell

GRINNELL, Clayton A., piano manufacturer and general music dealer; born near Albion, N.Y., (Orleans Co) Dec. 2, 1859; son of Ira and Betsy A. (Balcome) Grinnell; educated in district schools of Orleans Co., N.Y., and at University of Michigan, graduating, 1879; married at Detroit, May 21, 1904, Miss Myrta Gay. Began in music business at Ann Arbor, Mich., with brother, Ira L., under title of Grinnell Bros., 1880; firm located in Detroit, 1882, and began manufacture of pianos, 1901; firm now has 16 stores in operation in United States and Canada. Member National Association of Piano Dealers of America (first vice president, elected June, 1907), Detroit Board of Commerce. Republican as to politics. Methodist in church affiliation. Member Masonic order, K.O.T.M., Loyal Guards. Recreations: Hunting, fishing and travel. Office: 241-243 Woodward Av. Residence: 1695 Woodward Av.

John Howe
HOWE, JOHN A., of the firm of Granger & Howe, proprietors of City Meat Market, Marion; born in Scioto Tp., Pickaway Co., Ohio, June 29,1833; came to Marion in June, 1848 ; engaged in present business for twelve years. Mr. Howe has been member of the School Board twelve years. He married Nancy Elizabeth Potter, Jan. 23, 1856; she was born in Clarendon Tp., Orleans Co., N. Y., July 7, 1837; she came to Marion Jan. 23, 1855. They were married in Monroe Tp., Linn Co., Iowa; they have had five children; lost one son—Edward Earnest; he was born Dec. 31, 1858, and died June 4, 1859; the living children are as follows— William Morris, born Nov. 18, 1856; Edward Irving, born May 13, 1860; Melvin Franklin, born Feb. 26, 1866; and John Stanley, born Oct. 9, 1877. Mrs. Howe is a member of the Baptist Church.
