The Auglaize County Democrat March 19,1891 Richardson, Daniel Landon died March 15,1891 in Wapakoneta. 74y 4m 18d Born Aug 17,1816 in Shelby Co., Ohio. Oldest resident of Auglaize Co. and one of the largest property owners in Logan twp., He moved to Wapakoneta about 16 years ago. Married Miss Agnes Francis in Franklin Co. ,Ohio in 1835. Lived in Franklin Co. 11 years and came to this area in 1846,locating on a farm on the Auglaize river 7 miles north west of here. Entered the ministry of the Christian church in 1844. Traveled by horseback to reach the people in those days as there were no churches. His father William Richardson was also a minister. He died at Hamer, Paulding Co., He was 109 y 8d., His wife bore 13 children, 8 girls and 5 sons. 11 children still survive, 52 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. His wife was born Jan 3,1819 in Virginia. Services at Oak Grove, west of town. Buried Greenlawn Cemetery. Submitted by Ralph Richardson
Wapakoneta Daily News Wapakoneta----Mrs. Betty M. Kolter, 46 of 207 West Pearl St, died at 12:20 a.m. Saturday in Lima Memorial Hospital,following a two month illness. Mrs. Kolter was born Oct. 23,1920 in Lakeview, the daughter of George and Ruth Armstrong. In 1938 she was married to Ralph Richardson, who died in 1946. She later married Frederick Kolter and he survives. Also surviving are one son, Ralph Richardson of Chicago and one daughter, Mrs. John (Carole) Richardson of Westerville, by her first marriage. One daughter, Barbara Kolter and one son, Frederick Kolter, both at home, from the second marriage. Two grandchildren; Two brothers,George and Neil Armstrong, both of Lima and four sisters, Mrs. John (Phyllis) Heaps of St. Marys, Mrs. Francis (Donna) Moser and Mrs. Dale (Mary) Clark both of Halsey, Ore., and Miss Ruth Armstrong of Los Angeles. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church Of Christ. She was employed as a clerk-typist with the U.S. Soil and Conservation office here. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Siferd Funeral Home with Rev. Herman J. Weber officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Siferd Funeral Home from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m., 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Submitted by Ralph RichardsonWapakoneta

Lt. Bruce Kolter was killed in action June 17 while on patrol seven
miles north of Dong Ha in the Quang Tri province of South Vietnam,
according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs Burk Kolter, 506
E. Auglaize. Sent to
Vietnam Dec.19,1968, Lt. Kolter had entered the Marine Corps Feb.
5,1968.He was a 1963 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and received a
bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Michigan State University
in 1967.Born Aug. 15,1945, in Lima, he was an only child. Arrangements
are incomplete at Siferd Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, pending arrival of
the body, U.S.M.C., Lima Recruiting Station, is in charge of military

Briar Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater. Lima News Kittie L. Dingler, 93, died at 4 a.m. Sunday at her home following
a two month illness. Lima News Services for Ercil A. Gesler, 78, will be at
10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville,
Rev. William Hull, officiating. Burial in Greenlawn cemetery. Lima News Dessie L. Shellenbarger, 84, died at 3:45 a.m.
Saturday in the Indian Lake Manor Nursing Home, Lakeview. Lima News Floe Sheipline, 85, died at 3:29 p.m. Friday in the Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home. Born Dec. 2, 1889, in Auglaize County, she was the daughter of Otto and Ellen (Frazier) Buchannan. She married Frank Sheipline in 1910 and he died in 1958. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Edna) Culp, of Rt. 2, St. Marys and mrs. Arthur (Virginia) Secrest of Columbus; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Kantner, Rt. 5. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Siferd Funeral Home, Rev. Louis Bell, officiating. Burial in Greenlawn cemetery. Lima News William Hollingsworth, 71, a resident of the Valley Nursing Home in St. Marys, died at 5:14 p.m. Monday at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born Jun 10, 1912, in New Bremen, the son of Frank and Elnora (Bruns) Hollingsworth. Mr Hollingsworth was the former owner of the Hollingsworth Hotel in New Bremen. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Gilberg Funeral Home, Rev. James O. Byrne, officiating. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. |
