WILBUR "IKE" WEBER JR.

Wilbur J. "Ike" Weber, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999.

He was born Oct. 31, 1915, in Columbiana, a son of Amos Weber and Rosalie Madliger Weber. A 55-year employee of the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., he worked for 20 years as manager of Firestone Test Center in Columbiana. Mr. Weber was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Columbiana, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice "Bea" Weber; sons, David Weber of Dallas, Texas, and Dennis J. Weber of Montgomery, Ala.; six grandchildren.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Grace United Church of Christ in Columbiana, with Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, and one hour prior to services Saturday. Material tributes may be made to Grace U.C.C. Death Claims Mrs. Webber

Long illness takes local woman at 74.

Mrs. Jennie Crable Webber, wife of Ambrose E. Webber, died Saturday at 5:20 p. m. in her home, 344 West Fourth St., following a long illness.  She was 74

A daughter of the late I. N. Crable and  Mrs. Laura Anderson Crable, Mrs. Webber was born in Brownsville, Pa., and came to East Liverpool with her parents when she was 4.  She was a member of St. Stephenson's Episcopal Church.

She leaves a son, Leonard C. Webber; a brothers, Russell Crable, and a  sister, Mrs. John Russell, all of East Liverpool, and two grandchildren.

Rites will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Dawson Funeral Home by Rev. Frederick T. Gillette. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

PAUL W. WEST

Paul W. West, 79, of Columbiana County, Alliance, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at home.

Born in Alliance to Stacy West and Cora (Johnson) West, he married Mary E. (Howard) West on Aug. 20, 1949. He resided in the area most of his life, and was a graduate of Alliance High School. He was employed by Alliance Machine Co. in supervision until retiring, and he attended Southside Church of God. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served in World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, and received Presidential Unit Citation and the Bronze Star.

Survivors include wife, Mary West of Alliance; daughters, Rose Wright and Paula Stephenson, both of Alliance; sons, Ernest West of Homeworth, Ohio and Gary West of Sebring, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold West of Alliance and Stacy West of Atwater; sister, Leona Bettis of Atwater. He was preceded in death by parents and by brother, Wallace West.

Funeral services at Casaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000. Friends may call at Casaday-Turkle-Christian from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Rev. FRANK A. WHITTAKER

Frank A. Whittaker, 77, a native of East Palestine, died Sunday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Murray, in Robertsville, Stark County.

Mr. Whittaker was born Feb. 26, 1873, in East Palestine, a son of George and Elizabeth Westlake Whittaker.  He was married Nov. 30, 1904, to Miss Margaret McConnell at Toronto.  He was a member of the Methodist Church. 

Mr. Whittaker leaves a son, George Whittaker of Wellsville; three other daughters, Mrs. Margaret Hamilton, Mrs. Jennie Mack and Mrs. Ola Lengyel, all of New Cumberland; a half-brother, Dale Hamilton of Erie, Pa., and 26 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The body was taken to the Stewart and Turley Funeral Home in New Cumberland where services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. by Rev. Milo Smith, pastor of the Free Methodist Church there.  Burial will be in the New Cumberland Cemetery.

Long Illness Takes Widow

Mrs. Mary A. Wells' Rites To Be Monday

Mrs. Mary Alice Goodwin Wells, 419 Azelea Ave., died Friday at 4 p. m. in City Hospital following a several months' illness. 

Mrs. Wells was born in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Goodwin.  She was graduated from East Liverpool High School and from Bradford (Mass.) Acadmeny.

She was married in 1929 to Norman Wells and lived in New York City until after his death, when she returned to East Liverpool.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Wells leaves two son, John G. Wells, who is stationed at the Selfredge (Mich) Air Base, and Norman Woodruff Wells, at home, and a brother, James Goodwin of New York City.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a. m. in the Dawson Funeral Home by Rev. M. Rudolph Miller of the First Presbyterian Church.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday night at the funeral home.

MARY P. WILLIAMS

Mrs. Mary P. Williams, 74, widow of John Williams died today at 7 a.m. in her home on Logan St., Pleasant Heights, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Williams was born in Woodsfield and lived in East Liverpool 50 years.  She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Mary Myers of Richmond, and Mrs. Marie Malone and Miss Faye Williams , both of East Liverpool; five sons, Lewis Williams, James Williams, George Williams and Fred Williams, all of East Liverpool, and Bearl Williams of Industry; two brothers, John Cline of Beverly and Joseph Cline of  New Matamoras, and 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Rites will be held Monday at 2 p. m. in the Dawson Funeral Home by Rev. C. L. Rodda.  Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.

HERBERT H. WOODYARD

Herbert H. Woodyard, 47 of Broad Street, East Liverpool, Ohio died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at home following a 2 year illness. 

He was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on December 24, 1958 and was the son of Edward L. & Linda (Walburger) Woodyard, also of East Liverpool, OH and had lived his entire life in East Liverpool. 

Mr. Woodyard, a life long area resident, worked at the Hall China Company for 26 years as a Computer Machine Operator, last working in March of 2006. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School, a social member of American Legion, Post 374 and Local 417 of Glass Molders, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed rafting on Beaver Creek, fishing and camping. 

Besides his parents, he is survived by a son, Tim Woodyard of East Liverpool, OH; three sisters, Wanda Blaner and her husband, Duane of Lisbon, OH, Kay Giralico of East Liverpool, OH and Sandy M. Hilbert and her husband, Jim of East Liverpool, OH; four nieces, Heidi Wheeler of Lisbon, Amber O'Hanlon of Wellsville, OH, Nicole Hilbert and Linsey Hilbert, both of East Liverpool, OH; two nephews, Bobby Cunningham of Lisbon and Joey Giralico of East Liverpool, OH.

 Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor George White of Christian Life Tabernacle, officiating. Burial will follow in United Presbyterian Cemetery of Calcutta. The family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
