 1946 - Lancaster, O., A cow kicked and trampled to death Mrs. Mona Monroe, 50, today as she tried to milk the animal at her farm, seven miles west of here. (Apr 10, 1946 "The Marion Star" - transcribed by Linda Dietz)

1912 - Lancaster, O.- Acute tonsillitis is the cause given by officials of the Boys' Industrial school today for the death of William Smith, 16, of Dayton, at the institution last night. Attendants and inmates today claim, however, that young Smith actually starved to death. According to them the lad refused to eat for eleven days. Every means used to make him take food nourishment proved unavailing .(Jul 24, 1912 "The Lima News" - transcribed by Linda Dietz)

Republican Compiler (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania)  April 27, 1825

On Friday the 8th inst., Miss Elizabeth Eaton, aged about 25 years, daughter of Mr. Joseph Eaton, of Amanda township, Fairfield county, Ohio, was killed by a large piece of timber falling on her at a raising on her father's farm.

On Saturday evening, the 9th inst., a house in the vicinity of Lancaster, Ohio, was, with all its effectrs, entirely consumed.

Republican Compiler (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania) February 1, 1826

Lancaster, O., Jan. 12

A few weeks since, Mr. Abraham F. Miller, the head butcher of Walnut township, made a sausage for Abraham Miller, Esq., living on the canal line, in Walnut township, which measured 19 yards in length, out of one entire gut, without a single twist or hole in it except at the ends and weighed 35 pounds. - Eagle.

1915- Edwin Cocher, nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Cocher residing at 136 West Sixth avenue was badly scalded Monday morning while assisting his mother with the family washing. As he started washing the clothing the plug in the washing machine some way came out and the boiling water striking his left side and leg, horribly cooked the flesh, and  in removing his clothing, the soft skin came with it. Dr. Mondhank and Dr. Alfred were summoned and with the assistance of kind friends the lad was given every attention. (Jan 4, 1915 "Lancaster Daily Eagle" - transcribed by Linda Dietz

Republican Compiler (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania November 29, 1826

The house occupied by Mr. Abraham Long in Bloom township, Fairfield county, Ohio was destroyed by fire with all its contents during the absence of the family on Sunday the 12th instant.

Republican Compiler (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania March 28, 1827

Fire

We learn that on Saturday the 10th instant, Mr. Greene's Store, in Centreville, Fairfield county, Ohio, was destroyed by fire; the fire originated from an adjoining building, which was also consumed.  Mr. Greene's loss is estimated at from 1500 to 2000 dollars. - Perry (O.) Record.
