| Sandusky Daily Star July 7, 1902 Albert Thibaut, a husband of two weeks, died Sunday, at Marion, of small-pox. The Marion Star Carmi Rorick, 28, section foreman for the Big Four railroad at Caledonia, was killed and Burt Burkholder, 50, and Emmanuel Thomas, 50, both of Caledonia and Big Four section employes, were injured when the railway motor car on which they were riding crashed into a similar car on the track at Slick's station five miles east of Marion. The dead are; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Houk and their three small children. A defective flue is believed to have caused the blaze. Mrs. Jerry Nulk is quite sick at her home on west Columbia street. Earl Smucker, aged 17 years, who resides with Mr. and Mrs. George Smith over Geddis & Rice's livery barn, while assisting in caring for a colt, was rendered unconscious at noon Thursday. Daily Star Drowned - A little boy six years old named Thos. Mackey, fell in a cistern last evening and was drowned. The same boy was thrown under the train at the 3 C's depot this spring and narrowly escaped death. Marion, O., August 13, 1878- John Curran playfully pulled a revolver out of John Davis' pocket last evening at the 3C's depot, not thinking it was loaded, and pointed it at Davis' head and fired before the latter could let him know; the ball passing through his hat rim, close to the crown; the powder burning his face and one eye badly but not seriously. --------

Marion.-Mrs. Fred Warren, 35, is dead as result of burns received when
she attempted to light a fire with coal oil. The oil in the can
she was using exploded, the burning fluid being thrown over her head,
arms and body.
Submitted by Kate Watson ________ Marion Daily Mirror A son was born yesterday morning to Mr. and Mrs. Noah Fausnaugh of Monroe street. Company D held its weekly drill last night. The attendence was rather light account of the holiday. The condition of Dr. J. H. Criswell remains about the same today with the exception that he appears to be gaining in strength slightly.
