This County is
Up for Adoption!
Welcome to Noble County, Ohio Genealogy Trails.
My name is Sharon Wick and I am looking for an ambitious person to
Host this County.
If you are interested in hosting Noble County, please contact Me or Kim Torp.
In the meantime, please visit our
Volunteers' page.
We are a fun group and always looking for more things to add to our
Genealogy Trails History Group.
In the meantime, I will be updating this County as
much as I can.
~Sharon Wick~
It was the last of Ohio's 88 counties to be formed,
in 1851.
Noble County was home to the first North American oil well, the
Thorla-McKee Well, discovered in 1814.
In 1925, a United States Navy dirigible, USS Shenandoah (ZR-1), was
caught in a storm over Noble County, and broke into several pieces.
Of those on board, 14 were killed and 29 survived. (Found at Wikipedia.com)
