Cream Tomato Soup

Take one dozen ripe tomatoes or one can of tomatoes: put on to cook in
one quart
of water. When thoroughly cooked strain and add one pint of milk
or cream, a lump of butter the size of an egg, salt to taste, a
very little
thickening of flour and one half teaspoon of soda.
Graham Pudding
~Mrs. D.B Beers~
1/2 cup sugar, 1~1/2 cup maple
syrup, 1 cup sour milk,
2 cups graham flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon cloves,
1 heaping teaspoon soda, 1/4 of a small nutmeg,
1 cup raisins and a little salt. Steam two hours and serve
with any kind of pudding sauce.
Lemon Pie
~Mrs. A. Comstock~
1 cup sugar, the yolk of 1 egg, 1 large tablespoon of flour,
1 cup water, grated rind and juice of one lemon, a little butter.
Put on the stove in a double boiler and let it
cook until it is as thick as a custard. Beat the white of the egg
stiff and add
2-3 cups of sugar and spread on the top. Brown in the oven.
Crust should be baked separately.
