Orvil Bennett
PANHANDLE - Orvil Bennett, 74, a former Amarillo resident, died Monday, April 28, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m.
today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., in Amarillo, with Robert Bennett
officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Bennett was born in Alfalfa, Okla. He lived in Amarillo
for 37 years before moving to Panhandle five years ago. He married Elizabeth Neale Baker in 1991 at Amarillo. He
worked for Randall County Road and Maintenance. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Claude. He was preceded
in death by his first wife, Della Bennett, in 1989; and by a son, Robert Bennett, in 1970. Survivors include his
wife; three sons, Bennie Bennett and Eldon Bennett, both of Amarillo, and Richard Bennett of Ponca City, Okla.;
two daughters, Pat Winder of Huntsville and Deanna Arend of Amarillo; a stepson, Richard Baker of Amarillo; a stepdaughter,
Marilyn Thomas of Dimmitt; three brothers, Leo Bennett of El Reno, Okla., George Bennett of Oklahoma and Ralph
Bennett of Oklahoma City; a sister, Floy Pitt of Hydro, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Helen Campbell
Helen Campbell, 88, of Amarillo died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Paramount Baptist
Church with the Rev. Gil Lain, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral
Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Campbell was born June 2, 1916, to Claude and Edna Hodge in Alfalfa, Okla., and
had been a resident of Amarillo for 52 years. She graduated from Alfalfa High School in Oklahoma, earned a bachelor
of science degree in 1951 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a master of education degree in 1954
from West Texas A&M University in Canyon. Mrs. Campbell married Charles Campbell on July 15, 1938. To this
66-year union was born their daughter, Charlene Day. In 1947, she began a longtime teaching career of 31 years.
She taught fourth and fifth grade for four years at Colony, Okla. She moved to Sudan and taught for a year before
coming to Amarillo in 1952, where she was a teacher in the Amarillo Independent School District until her retirement
in 1978. She taught at Will Rogers Elementary, Horace Mann, Travis and Bonham middle schools. She was a member
of Retired Teachers Association of Texas, a life member and silver sister of Alpha Delta Kappa International Sorority,
Texas Lambda Chapter and a member of Paramount Baptist Church since 1969. But more than anything else, Mrs. Campbell
will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother and grandmother to her grandsons and great-grandchildren, a loving
sister and a faithful servant. She will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved and cherished her. She
was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bob Hodge and Allen Hodge. Survivors include her husband;
a daughter, Charlene Day and husband, Joe; two grandsons, Rick Day and wife, Teai, of Amarillo and Randy Day and
wife, Renee, of Dallas; five great-grandchildren, Aaron Day, Asher Day, Anna Day, Ariel Day and Grace Day; two
sisters, Lavon Bennett and Betty Arther, both of Oklahoma; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.

Fajen was born Nov. 2, 1907, in Alfalfa County. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include
two sons, Owen Tyler of Granbury, Texas, and Byron Tyler of Lindale, Texas; three stepsons, Stanley Tyler of Amarillo,
Texas, Don Fajen of Guymon and Fred Fajen of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Cemetery in Tonkawa. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Panhandle Centenary United Methodist Church
with the Rev. Greg Keith, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hefley
was born July 2, 1910, in Alfalfa County. She married Dr. Harold Martin Hefley Jr. on Aug. 21, 1938, in Oklahoma
City. Survivors include several cousins; and special friends, Johnnie and Moylene Davis and Dr. Scrafin and VaLois
Ramon and their families.

CANYON - Gladys Marie
Peterman, 75, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Washington Avenue

Home, 8310 S. Coulter St. Miss Peterman was born May 9, 1931, in Alfalfa County, Okla., the daughter of George
and Janie Wazner Peterman. She attended school in Ingersoll and Cherokee, Okla., where she later graduated. Gladys
attended beauty school in Wichita, Kan., and worked in Great Bend, Kan., and Amarillo as a beautician for many
years. Gladys accepted Christ and was baptized into the Christian Church in Cherokee and she was a member of Washington
Avenue Christian Church in Amarillo. Gladys was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was Past Matron of Order
of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Hazel Griffin, five brothers, Phillip, Ora,
Cecil, Alva, and Ola Peterman; also a number of nieces and nephews. Survivors include a sister, Genevieve O. Stanley
of Satanta, Kan.

Clark Funeral Service. Mrs. Rock was born May 10, 1922, in Alfalfa County. She married Logan Dean Rock on April
27, 1941, in Beaver. Survivors include her husband; a son, Dan Rock of Alva; two daughters, Debbie Willeford of
Perryton, Texas, and Deitra Rock of Liberal, Kan.; a sister, Mary Beleele of Porter, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and
17 great-grandchildren.

officiating. Entombment will be at a later date in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Rodgers was born in Alfalfa County,
Okla., and moved to Amarillo from Lubbock in 1986. She was a selfemployed bookkeeper and attended Polk Street United
Methodist Church. She married James Whit Rodgers in 1932 at Clayton, N.M. He died in 1992. Survivors include a
