Jeremy Dwayne Moore

Jeremy Dwayne Moore was born Oct. 15,1979, to Dwayne and Joyce (Bussard) Moore in Okarche. He passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in Oklahoma City at the age of 29. Jeremy graduated from Calumet High School as valedictorian of his class in 1998 and attended Southern Nazarene University in Bethany for three years, and was currently attending the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
Jeremy served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in 2004. He worked for G&S Printing in Oklahoma City
He enjoyed building "green" furniture, loved music, collecting old albums, loved to go thrift store shopping for vintage items, loved hanging out at the coffee shop, pulling practical jokes, and loved to explore his artistic abilities including painting. Jeremy is survived by the love of his life, Jamie, and his daughter, Lillie LaRae of Oklahoma City; his parents, Dwayne and Joyce Moore of Calumet; one brother, Josh Moore and wife, Satirah, and their children, Jacob and Josalyn of El Reno; his grandfather, Raymond Bussard of Guthrie; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends (from the Red Cup), and special friends, Gene and Shirlene Tarbox, Nathan and Mandi Greenfield and Gavin, Madison and Katie.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Amalee Moore, and Annette Bussard.

Viewing will be at the Mercer-Adams Funeral Home, 3925 N. Ashbury, Bethany, today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be held at Calumet First United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, with Rev. Andy Teston, Rev. Kevin Rogers, Rev. Lance Schmitz and Rev. James Trippett officiating. Carol Joann “Griffith” Nichols

Services for Carol Joann (Griffith) Nichols will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Benson Memorial Chapel with burial in Canadian Valley Cemetery at Calumet. Arrangements are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nichols died Monday at her home in Hemet, Calif.
She was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Calumet. She attended Calumet High School and graduated from there in 1956. She attended Blackwood-Bates School of Business in Oklahoma City where she received her secretarial degree. She and James Edward Martin were married Dec. 13, 1958, and his Navy career took them to California. They divorced in 1979. She and Thomas Nichols were married Nov. 9, 1990. She enjoyed playing basketball and sang with a quartet in high school. She was a self-taught piano player and loved to sing. She served as adviser for the youth group at the United Church of Christ in California and headed a square dance group called the Young Americans, in which her children participated.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas; two sons, Rodger Martin of Hemet and Kelly Martin of Fritch, Texas; a daughter, Vicky Raysby of Springfield, S.D.; three brothers, Everette Griffith of Bethany, Delbert Griffith of Wichita, Kansas, and Dean Griffith of Amber; two sisters, Hazel of Midwest City and Christine of Bethany.

 

  

Mabel Irene “Moberly” Riley

Funeral services for Mabel Irene (Moberly) Riley were held today at First Christian Church in Calumet with Rev. Tim Clausing officiating. Burial was in the Canadian Valley Cemetery northeast of Calumet, under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Riley died Sunday at Oklahoma Heart Hospital. She was born Oct. 5, 1930, near Calumet. She retired in August 1984 from South-western Bell Telephone Co. with more than 33 years of service. She was past vice president of Communication Workers of America, Local 6016, a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and a United Way volunteer. She was a member of Calumet First Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, David, and daughter, Linnet of Yukon; a brother, Wayne Moberly of Springfield, Mo.; and a sister, Lucille Heitzman of Yukon.

 

  

 

Jim D. Roofe

 

Jim D. Roofe, 56, Valley Falls, died Tuesday, Sept, 5, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. Mr. Roofe was a physics and chemistry teacher at Valley Falls High School for 33 years. He had also taught at Buffalo, OK. He was a member of the National Educators Association and the Kansas National Educators Association. He was membership coordinator for the Valley Falls Educators Association. He was a member of the Valley Falls Rotary Club and the International Order of Odd Fellows No. 86 and had held many offices in their organizations.

He was born Jan. 12, 1950, at El Reno, OK, the son of Robert W. and Nadine M. Rugg Roofe. They preceded him in death.

He graduated from El Reno High School in 1968 and Central State University at Edmond, OK in 1973.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert Wayne Roofe, Clinton, Mass., and Thomas R. Roofe, Del City, OK; a sister, Ellen J. Kuykendall, Oklahoma City; one niece and three nephews.

A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at the Valley Falls School Gymnasium. Visitation was from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the Canadian Valley Cemetery, at Calumet, OK. Jim D. Roofe, 56, of Valley Falls, Kan., died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.

Walter F. Snelling

Funeral services for Walter F. Snelling of El Reno will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Roach, pastor of Faith Family Church officiating. Burial will be in the Canadian Valley Cemetery north of Calumet.
Mr. Snelling died Friday, June 15, 2007, at his daughter's home in Yukon. He was born Feb. 21, 1947, in El Reno. He was a lifetime El Reno area resident and a 1966 graduate of El Reno High School. He married Carrie Miller on May 23, 1975, in Banner. He was a farmer and attended First Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank A. Snelling and Louise (Zweiacher) Snelling, sisters, Anabell Bishop and Bina Fowler; and a great-niece, Megan Fowler.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carrie Snelling of the home; a daughter, Dona Snelling Lake of Yukon; a son, Jason Snelling of El Reno; brothers, Billy and Danny Snelling, both of El Reno, Jay Snelling of Oklahoma City and Otis Snelling and wife, Margie of Shelbyville, Tenn.; sister, Regena Williams of El Reno; his boss and fellow worker for over 40 years, Gary Evans and wife, Margaret of El Reno; and numerous other relatives and friends.

 

 

Geraldine (Jerry) “Moberly” Thompson

 

Geraldine 'Jerry' died May 14, 2006, at Baptist Medical Center in OKC. Services will be 10 a.m., Thurs., May 18, at First Christian Church in Calumet with Rev. Tim Clausing and Dr. Tom Russell officiating. Burial will be in Canadian Valley Cemetery northeast of Calumet.

Jerry was born Nov. 17, 1926 at Calumet and lived most of her life in Canadian County. She was a nurse, retiring from the Oklahoma City Clinic, and attended the Calumet First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Edward and Grace (Winfrey) Moberly; brothers, Alvin, Bernie, Clyde and Delbert Moberly; and a sister, Naomi Moberly. Jerry is survived by her husband, Don; sons, Randy Thompson and wife, Mary of OKC, Dale Thompson and wife, Dora of Ft. Worth, TX, Bill Thompson and wife, Bonnie of Springfield, MO; brother, Wayne Moberly and wife, Susan of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Lucille Heitzman and husband, Bob, and Mabel Riley and husband, David, all of Yukon; grandchildren, Brett, Mike, Jennifer, Mindy and Chris Thompson; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Jadyn Dean Wavada

Jadyn Dean Wavada, infant son of Jerry and Shannon (Reimers) Wavada, died June 5, 2006, at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon.

In addition to his parents, he is also survived by grandparents, Mark and Connie Reimers of El Reno and Robert and Betty Wavada of Yukon; great-grandparents, Dan and Earlene Reimers of Oklahoma City, Vic and Linda Taylor of El Reno and Donna Secrest of Ponca City; and uncles, Jake and Amber Reimers of El Reno, David Wavada of Yukon and Don and Kathy Wavada of Yukon.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006, in the Canadian Valley Cemetery in Calumet with George Gilland officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Yanda and Son Funeral Home of Yukon.

 

 

 

Patricia L. King

Funeral services for Patricia L. King of Moore will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold W. Kamman officiating. Burial will be in the Canadian Valley Cemetery.

Mrs. King died Friday at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born Sept. 8, 1937, in Valmeda, Ark. She grew up in Arkansas, later moving to Tennessee, then to Moore. She was a retired CNA from Southwestern Bell. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Moore.

She is survived by sons, David King and Larry King, both of Moore; a brother, Lloyd Waldo; sisters, Maxine Flynn of Little Rock, Ark., Joy Baxter, Laura Ann Rue and Lee White, all of Houston, and Paula Baxter of Illinois; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
 

 

 

 

Thomas Andrew Laub

Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Andrew Laub of Calumet will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Calumet. Wake services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Omar Tabing officiating. Burial will be in the Canadian Valley Cemetery in Calumet. Services are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. Laub died Monday, May 29, 2006, at his home. He was born Oct. 7, 1943, in El Reno to Andrew J. and Mildred E. (Perkins) Laub. He was a lifelong resident of Calumet and served in the Army. Thomas married Corky Bornemann on Sept. 1, 1962, in Calumet.
He is survived by his wife, Corky; son, Andrew P. Laub and wife, Angela of Corinth, Texas; daughter, Ingrid (Laub) Block and husband, Thomas of Yukon; brother, Mike Laub and wife, Cynthia of Calumet; sisters, Mary Meyer and husband, Melvin of Okarche, Kathryn Carrero and husband, Enrique of Key Biscayne, Fla., and Maxine Calvert and husband, Robert of Calumet. Tom is also survived by four grandchildren, Corley and Brendan Laub and Shane and Alexander Block.

Loretta June Meade

Funeral services for Loretta June Meade of Calumet will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2006, at First Christian Church of Calumet with Rev. Tim Clausing officiating. Burial will be in the Canadian Valley Cemetery. Services are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Meade passed away on Monday, March 27, 2006, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.

She was born Oct. 25, 1928, in El Reno to her parents, Frederick F. and Thelma (Collins) Palmore. She was a graduate of El Reno High School and a lifelong resident of Calumet. She married Arthur Eugene Meade in El Reno on Oct. 5, 1947.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Eugene Meade; her father, Frederick F. Palmore; and a granddaughter, Jae J. MaGee.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur E. Meade of the home; daughters, Treva Wheeler and husband, Floyd "Jim" of Tuttle, Marla MaGee and husband, John of Checotah and LeRae Leck and husband, John of Calumet; a son, Curtis Wayne Meade of Fort Supply; her mother, Thelma Palmore of Yukon; sisters, Bonnie Jean Lorenzen of El Reno and Reatha Ann Sanders and husband, Raymond of El Reno; a brother, Joe Ned Palmore of Mustang; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Lydia Sarah Olga Meade

 

Funeral services for Lydia Sarah Olga Meade of Calumet were held Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Calumet United Methodist Church with Rev. Michelle McCarty officiating. Burial was in the Canadian Valley Cemetery. Services were under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Meade was born Nov. 2, 1915, in Okarche. She died May 6, 2009, at Grace Living Center. She was a lifetime Canadian County area resident.
Lydia Reimers married Roy Alexander Meade on Dec. 12, 1934, in El Reno. She was a farmer's wife and homemaker. Mrs. Meade was a lifelong member of Olivet Nazarene Church, where she had served as the church treasurer for 40 years. Lydia loved to cook, paint pictures, sew, and taking care of children, and she loved her flowers.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Otto and Minna (Theims) Reimers; her husband, Roy Alexander Meade; seven sisters, Emma Meade Ellison, Nettie Holland Wildman, Christine Magby, Lorine LaBrue, Rose Teague, Lucille Lynch and Violet Sanders; and two brothers, Norman Reimers and Charlie Reimers.
Survivors include three sons, Allen Meade and wife, Pam, Duane Meade and wife, Roxie, and Delbert Meade and wife, Doris, all of Calumet; a daughter, Frankie Law and husband, Del of Fredericksburg, Texas; brother, Henry Reimers of Clinton; sisters, Loretta Nicholson of Okarche and Pauline Lagaly of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Ray D. Meade

Funeral services for Ray D. Meade of Calumet will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at First Christian Church in Calumet with Rev. Tim Clausing officiating. Burial will be in the Canadian Valley Cemetery. Services are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. Meade died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in Yukon. He was born July 9, 1933, in El Reno. Ray was a lifetime Canadian County area resident. He was a retired bulldozer operator. He was a former member of the Eagles, member of the VFW and American Legion. He attended the Nazarene Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Thomas and Emma (Reimers) Meade.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Felton and Sheryl Williams, both of El Reno; brothers, Arthur Meade of Okarche, Kenneth Meade and wife, Kathy of Calumet and Bill Meade and wife, Judy of Calumet; a sister, Delores Bomhoff of El Reno; four grandchildren, Joe David Felton and wife, Carie, Billy Felton and wife, Jeniece, Ashley Felton and Tyler Ables, all of El Reno; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brianna, Josie, Creed and Ava Felton, all of El Reno; special friend, Norma Meade of El Reno; and numerous other relatives and friends.

 

 

Alvin L. Moberly

Alvin L. Moberly was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Calumet to Claude E. and Grace (Winfrey) Moberly. He passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at the age of 83 at the Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. Alvin graduated from Calumet High School and attended a trade school in Chickasha for welding. He served in the Army during World War II, where he served in the China-Burma India Theatre.

He was joined in marriage to Alma Lawless on June 28, 1947, at First Christian Church in El Reno. Alvin and Alma loved to travel, especially to the F-Troop 124th Calvary Reunion in Mineral Wells, Texas, where Alvin served as past president. He and Alma owned and operated Moberly's Grocery and Station for 46 years. He was a Mistletoe Express agent for 19 years. Alvin was a charter member of the Calumet American Legion Post 325, member of the Calumet Lions Club, the Calumet Chamber of Commerce, the ATA Lodge and the DAV. He served as a volunteer fireman in Calumet, where he served as past chief. Alvin joined Calumet Christian Church as a teen-ager and served as an elder for many years. He was caretaker and president of the Canadian Valley Cemetery for 39 years.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Moberly of the home in Calumet; one daughter, Linda Lea Cimino and husband, Sil (Butch) of Jensen Beach, Fla.; one son, Jimmy Calvin Moberly of Calumet; a granddaughter, Kimberly Brown and husband, Thomas, and their daughter, Linda Nicole (Nikki), all of Spotsylvania, Va.; a brother, Wayne Moberly and wife, Susan of Ballwin, Mo.; three sisters, Geraldine (Jerry) Thomp-son and husband, Don, Mabel Riley and husband, David, and Lucille Heitzman and husband, Bob, all of Yukon; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives as well as numerous friends.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Grace Moberly, a sister, Naomi Moberly, and three brothers, Clyde, Delbert and Bernard (Bernie) Moberly.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at First Christian Church in Calumet with Pastor Tim Clausing officiating. Burial was in Canadian Valley Cemetery in Calumet, under direction of Turner Funeral Home of Geary.

Betty Louise Hendrex

Funeral services for Betty Louise Hendrex of El Reno will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 7 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Newman, pastor of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Canadian Valley Cemetery north of Calumet.

Betty died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at her home. She was born Dec. 19, 1934, in Watonga to Oscar and Alice (Morris) Goodman. She lived most of her life in the Canadian County area. She married Cleo W. Hendrex on Nov. 15, 1975, in El Reno. She was a member of First Christian Church. Betty loved fishing and remodeling houses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Charles Goodman; and brothers-in-law, Charles Dexter Snow and Bill Nash.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Croskey and husband, Frank of El Reno; her son, Kenneth "Jack" Holland and wife, Monica of Sioux City, Iowa; sisters, Phyllis Lemons and husband, Jim of Drumright, Margaret Blackwell and husband, Eddie of Denton, Texas, Jane Snow and Helen Nash, both of Texas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

  

Jimmy Don Griffith

Funeral services for Jimmy Don Griffith will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday July 19, in the Benson Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Canadian Valley Cemetery under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
After battling lymphoma cancer, Jim took the hand of his Lord to be led from this earthly home to his heavenly home on July 16, 2008. He was born June 20, 1949, in El Reno. Raised in Bethany, as a teenager, he spent his Saturdays and summers working at the family service station until he graduated from Putnam City High School in 1967. As part of a Mobil Oil Company drawing, Jim won a brand new 1968 Mustang.
Jim attended a semester at UCO in 1968. He met Barbara Ann Snyder, a student at Midwest Bible College, at Cherokee Hills Christian Church during that semester. They were married on Dec. 27, 1968, in Minneola, Kan.
After a semester at OU, he entered active duty in the Navy, serving his country for eight years, nine months and 27 days, and was honorably discharged as an Aviation Electronics Technician First Class on April 14, 1978. While in the Navy, Jim and Barbara became parents to Andrew Scott, Sherrie Ann and Emily Jean. After his discharge, Elisa Jo and Julie Kathleen were added to the family.
After his naval service, he worked for several copier companies selling and repairing copiers. Jim and Barbara were active members at the "Tepee" Church in Edmond for several years. After 25 years of marriage, he lost Barbara to breast cancer. He continued to be an active member in several local churches. A stillborn son also preceded him in death.
Jim is survived by his parents, Everett and Dorothy (Houston) Griffith of Bethany; children, Andrew Scott Griffith of Pelham, N.Y., Sherrie and Brian McManon of Scotts Valley, Calif., Emily and Colonel Ross Uhler of Jacksonville, Ark., and Jesse Keefe of Tulsa, and Julie Kathleen Griffith of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Jacob, Caleb and Jared; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Stan Nichols of Oklahoma City; a brother, Terry Griffith of Norman; and a host of other family and friends.

 

  

Jeanette H. Everett

Private family services for Jeanette H. Everett of El Reno will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, in the Canadian Valley Cemetery with Rev. Dean Esskew officiating. Services are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Everett died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, in El Reno. She was born March 29, 1930, to Charles and Nancy Horspool in Ogden, Utah. She married Fred Lee Everett on March 16, 1954, in Elko, Nev. They moved to Oklahoma in 1965. She was a member of the Mormon Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Lee Everett; a son, Archie C. Everett; and granddaughter, Misty Everett.

She is survived by a son, Fred W. Everett and wife, Peggy of Calumet; three daughters, Nancy Salsman and husband, Larry of Lookeba, Carolyn Cotten and husband, Richard of Bonham, Texas, and Deleane Mortensen of Oklahoma City; brother, Kenneth Horspool of Riverdale, Utah; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services for Verona Mae Davis of El Reno will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michelle McCarty, pastor of Red Rock United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Canadian Valley Cemetery.

Services are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis was born in El Reno and then later moved to California and New Mexico before returning to El Reno. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Florence (Agee) Tarter; her husband, Floyd Percy Davis; a brother, Arthur Tarter; and two sisters, Effie Adkins and Pearl Christopher.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Henderson of El Reno; a brother, Raymond Tarter of Bethany; a sister, Eva Cummings of Lancaster, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
 

  

Cathy Sue Eischen

 

Rosary Services for Cathy Sue Eischen, 45, were 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 2, 2007 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Okeene, Oklahoma, Funeral Services (Mass of Christian Burial) were 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2007 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Okeene. Father James Mickus officiated. Burial followed in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Okarche, Oklahoma. Arrangements were by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. Cathy Sue Eischen was born March 18, 1962 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Roy L. and Shirley M. (Venable) Clymer. Following a long battle with cancer, she passed away October 31, 2007, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Cathy grew up in Tulsa and moved to El Reno to finish her senior year. She graduated from El Reno High School in 1980. She attained her Bachelor's degree in English Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1985. Cathy married Pete Eischen on June 3, 1983, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in El Reno, Oklahoma. In 1984, she and her husband moved to Fairview, to start a new business and raise a family. Cathy was instrumental in the Fairview Meals on Wheels program in Fairview for 23 years. She was proud of her role as a wife, mother, and volunteer. Gardening, scrap-booking, cooking, singing, piano and waterskiing were some of her passions. Many hours were spent at the lake with her family. Cathy was a great confidant and counselor to her family and many friends. Cathy belonged to St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Okeene. She was a charter member of the Mu Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, a coordinator for Meals on Wheels and a member of the PEO. Cathy is survived by her husband, Pete; son, Jeffrey J. Eischen; and daughter, Megan L. Eischen, all of Fairview; parents, Roy L. and Shirley M. Clymer of Enid, and brother Scott Clymer and wife, Tara of Edmond. She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Lori Clymer. Memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Meals on Wheels, Fairview Hospital Foundation or O.M.R.F.-Cancer Research. Fairview Funeral Home Inc will serve as custodians. 

 

 

 

Pearl K. Eischen

 

El Reno – Office of the dead for Mrs. Pearl K. Eischen, will be at 8 p.m. Friday in Benson Funeral Home, and mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Okarche’s Holy Trinity Cemetery. She died Wednesday at Oklahoma City’s St. Anthony Hospital.

Mrs. Eischen was born in Missouri. She came to El Reno in 1940, and was a retired hotel owner.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a member of St. Teresa’s Altar Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John Zwajacher, El Reno; and Mrs. George Ratterman, Carlinville, Ill.

 

Eugene Endres

Prayer services for Eugene Joseph Endres were held Tuesday at Holy Trinity Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday at Holy Trinity Church with Revs. Philip Louis and Marvin Leven and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating. Burial was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery with military honors. Services were under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Mr. Endres died Friday at Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher.
He was born March 22, 1925, in Leedy. He lived in Okarche since 1942. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a tail gunner in Army Air Corps, and was a POW for three months in Germany. He was owner of Endres Construction and a farmer. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree member of the Stanley Rother Assembly and VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Luebking Endres of the home; daughters, Marilyn Ellis of Okarche and Phyllis Bliss of Los Angeles, Calif.; sons, James Endres Jr. of Boise, Idaho, Chet Endres of Clayton and Matt Endres of Kingfisher; daughters, Barbara Anderson of Wallis, Idaho, and Rosanna Hamil of Kingfisher; brothers, Philip Endres of Wichita, Kan., and James Endres Sr. of Rupert, Idaho; sisters, Flaurine Seely, Laurine Moeder and Dorothy Dotterer, all of Wichita, Kan., and Lillian Maehs of Kingfisher; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
