Joe D. McLain

The El Reno Tribune -- May 23, 2007

Graveside services for Joe D. McLain of Mustang, formerly of El Reno, were held Monday in the Calumet Cemetery with John Lee officiating. Services were under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. McLain died Friday at his home. He was born April 6, 1933, in Calumet, and was a lifetime Canadian County area resident. He was retired from Cullen Lumber Company after 17 years.

He is survived by his wife, Annetta of the home; sons, Joe McLain Jr. of Midwest City, Fred Turner of South Dakota and John Lee of Moore; a daughter, Lorrie Fritsche of South Carolina; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
 

Donna Moore

Donna Moore passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at the age of 48, at her home in Bismark, Ark.
She was born Feb. 23, 1960, to Howard Earl and June (Beall) Scott in Carnegie, Okla.
Donna graduated from Fairview High School, and attended the University of Oklahoma, and Rose State College.
She lived in Oklahoma City, New Mexico, Olathe, Kan., and Calumet, Okla., before moving to Arkansas in February.
Donna enjoyed reading, going to the lake, her puppy, watching The Young and the Restless, being a foster mom, and spending time with her grandson, Roman. She attended the Lambert Assembly of God in Arkansas and was a member of Coleman Chapel in Calumet.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Scott.
Survivors include her husband, Kent Moore of the home, Bismark, Ark.; three children, Tara (Kerbo) Henson and husband Mike of N. Little Rock, Ark., Derek Weiter, and Michael Moore, both of Bismark, Ark.; grandchild, Roman Henson of N. Little Rock, Ark.; mother, June Miller and husband Gene of Seminole, Ark.; three siblings, Ed Scott of Fairview, Okla., Steve Scott of Las Vegas, Nev., and Sheryl Ewing of Fairview.

Margaret Ann Moore

Funeral services for Margaret Ann Moore of Calumet were held Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at First Christian Church of Calumet with Rev. James Inman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Okarche officiating. Burial was in the Calumet Cemetery under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Moore died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at her home with her family by her side. She was born July 25, 1930, in Dover. She was a homemaker and a longtime Canadian County area resident. Margaret Webster married Gene Moore on Sept. 9, 1959.

She was a member of the Travelers Motor Club and she loved to crochet, do crafts, her own remodeling and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Josephine (Uhlenhake) Webster; her husband, Gene Moore; a daughter, Sylvia Jo Moore; a brother, Robert Webster; and two grandsons, Michael White and Thomas Anthony Hays.

She is survived by a son, James Micheal Mayo and wife, Malinda of Calumet; six daughters, Connie White of El Reno, Marla Rickey and husband, Bill of Oklahoma City, Carla Smith of Calumet, Pamela Kost and husband, Kelly of Weatherford, Shelley Alig and husband, Ed of Okarche and Treva Carter and husband, John of Fort Lewis, Wash.; stepson, Eugene Moore and wife, Mila of Richland Hills, Texas; brothers, Charles Webster and wife, Wanda of El Reno, Harold Webster and wife, Charolette of Yukon and John Webster and wife, Dorothy of Oklahoma City; a sister, Edna Ozmun of Henderson, Nev.; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Russell-Murray Hospice, P.O. Box 1423, El Reno, Okla. 73036.

Ruby Robertson

Funeral services for Ruby Robertson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Trull officiating. Burial will be in the Calumet Cemetery under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Robertson died Dec. 10, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Sue Stout, in El Reno. She was born Nov. 29, 1917, in El Reno. Ruby was a lifelong resident of El Reno and had attended El Reno Public Schools. She worked as a grocery clerk in several stores in El Reno. She was a lifelong member of Bible Baptist Church and a member of the Sew and Chat Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Frank and Atter Ann (Moody) Colthorp; a brother, A.K. "Buddy" Buird; and a sister, Ruth Neff.

Survivors include two sons, James "Jimmy" Robertson and wife, Nancy of Burkburnett, Texas, and Robert "Bob" Robertson and wife, Mary of Tulsa; two daughters, Ann Mulanax and husband, Ted, and Sue Stout and husband, Nelson of El Reno; a sister, Francis "Fanny" Wilson of El Reno; grandsons, Jeff Stout and wife, Carmen of El Reno, and Guy Mulanax of Las Vegas; granddaughters, Cheryl Smith of Wichita Falls, Texas, Jamie Tackitt and husband, Lynn of Austin, Gale Miller and husband, Kurt of Norman, Neletta Bowers and husband, Roger of El Reno and Madonna "Jenie" Moore of Tulsa; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Leo Larry Sanchez, Jr.

Funeral services for Leo Larry Sanchez Jr. of Calumet were held today in the Calumet United Methodist Church with Rev. Oren Lee, pastor of Calumet Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Calumet Cemetery under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. Sanchez died Saturday at his home. He was born Aug. 12, 1947, in El Reno. He at-tended Sacred Heart Catholic School. A lifetime Canadian County area resident, he was employed with the city of El Reno and town of Calumet, as well as a volunteer firefighter.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; children, Peggy Everett, Johnny Sanchez and Larry Holt, all of Calumet, Susan Williams of El Reno and Melody Robertson of Oklahoma City; sisters, Rosie Solis of Pleasanton, Texas, Patricia Halbert of El Reno, Jessie Lambaria and Carmen Gonzales, both of Flint, Mich., and Nancy Walters of Calumet; 26 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
 

Jayne Ann Heuser Sanders

Jayne Ann (Heuser) Sanders, 72, of Yukon, passed away Tuesday night July 18th, 2006 at OU Medical Center/ Presbyterian Hospital following a tragic car accident on NW 39th Street. Jayne was born in El Reno, OK on February 22, 1934 to Arnold and Mary Frances (Dirckson) Heuser, and is survived by her loyal and devoted husband Charles Sanders, brother Arnold 'Bud' Heuser Jr. of El Reno, three affectionate sons Terry Winham and wife Trisha of Mustang, Dan Winham and wife Kathy of Chickasha, and John Winham and wife Karen of Yukon as well as her three step-children Gary Sanders and wife Rhonda of Oklahoma City, Ronda Sanders of Red River, NM, and Sue Burris of Oklahoma City.

Jayne was dearly beloved by her grandchildren Wesley and Riley Winham, Beth Sanders, and Sarah Burris.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Malcomb. Jayne brought together families and friends with her quiet yet kind spirit and delicious pies. She spent many years in service to people as a lab and x-ray tech, through volunteer opportunities such as the Prayer Chain and as a cook for the Forest Hill Christian Church, with Meals on Wheels, a member of the Gem and Mineral Club of OKC, and as a mentor to five neighborhood children. Jayne and Charlie most recently began a halfway house to feed, spay, and neuter stray cats in their neighborhood.

The couple spent many years traveling throughout the US, and recently delighted in their summer crop of tomatoes and vegetables from the garden and loved watching their grandchildren's baseball and soccer games.

We are each angels, scripture tells us, but rarely, indeed is a soul so generous or a heart so kind. All responded to her compassion and all were touched by her grace. A celebration of life will be held at the Forest Hill Christian Church, 2121 N. MacArthur on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 10:00AM with interment to follow in Calumet Cemetery, Calumet, OK under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK.

Patty Hicks Dickerson

IOWA PARK- Mrs. Billy Joe Dickerson (Patty) 69 of Coleman street died in the Earl White hospice in Wichita Falls Texas. Patty was born in 1937 and was married to Billy Joe Dickerson in 1991 after the death of his wife . Patty is retired from Sheppard air force base in Wichita Falls Texas in Civil service .

Patty is survived by her widow Bill of the home and Children J.C. Smith of Deer Park Texas Ginger Williams of Azle Texas Cindy Collins of Wichita Falls Texas Rusty Smith of Iowa Park Texas Doug Smith of Burkburnett Texas Joey Dickerson of Mustang Oklahoma Eddy Dickerson of Electra Texas and Geanna Martin and Rebbecca Kinnamon of Bedford Texas. Sisters Charlene of High bar harbor N.J. and Della of Annapolis Md, Mother Mrs. Eva Rose Hicks of Iowa Park Teas .

Owens and Brumley funeral home are Custodians of Mrs.Dickerson. Funeral services will start Thursday at 1 at the Faith Baptist church in Iowa Park and Burial will take place on Friday at 1 in Calumet Cemetery in Oklahoma .

Jimmy D. Dix

Jimmy J. Dix, age 70, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at an Oklahoma City hospital after a long period of declining health. He was born December 22, 1937 at Pittsburg, OK to Jim and Lois (Long) Dix and grew up in Pittsburg and Clinton, OK. He was a 1956 graduate of Clinton High School and served six years in the Army National Guard. He moved to OKC in 1961 where he lived until his death. He was an insurance agent and had worked since 1972 for B.L. Bishop and Associates. He was a Baptist. Preceded in death by his father, he is survived by his mother Lois Dix, his wife Avis both of OKC, one son Eric and wife Sandie of OKC, one daughter Julie Sweeden and husband Mike of Mustang, four grandchildren and two sisters Hazel McGregor of Pauls Valley and Corene Cabiness of Clinton. Graveside services will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Red Hill (also known as Riverside) Cemetery, SW of Mustang, under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Travis Dale Harmon

Travis Dale Harmon, age 36, died Thursday July 24, 2008 in Warr Acres, OK. He was born July 20, 1972 in Oklahoma City, OK to Russell L. Harmon and Judith K. (Burkett) Culbertson. He attended Putnam City Schools. Travis was a truck driver for Glen Harmon Trucking, carrying for Shawnee Mills Company. Travis was an avid Kansas City Chiefs football fan. He is survived by his parents, his grandparents Glen and Pearline Harmon of Warr Acres, grandparents Jack and Mildred Burkett of Tyler, TX, one sister Tracy Kuhns of Bridge Creek, OK, a niece Hannah and nephew Peyton Hayes. Also by a half sister Amanda Harmon and three half brothers, Nicholas and Ryan Culbertson, and Kyle Harmon. MATTIE HAYES - Graveside services for Mattie Jean Hayes, 79, were held Wednesday at Riverside (Redhill) Cemetery southwest of Mustang under direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service. Mrs.Hayes died Monday at an Oklahoma City health-care facility. She was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Stephenville, Texas, and grew up in Gilmer, Texas, where she spent the majority of her adult life. She moved to Yukon in 1956. She was an accomplished artist and pianist. She is survived by a daughter, Anita Solomon of Yukon; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren."
 

Arthur Dale Murray

Arthur Dale Murray, 66 slipped away peacefully at home November 13, 2007. He was born April 17, 1941 to Virgil A. and Gertrude Sheridan Murray in Oklahoma City.

"Bud" graduated from Putnam City High. While serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960-1964, "Art" developed strong friendships and discovered his talent for photography. While home on leave, Arthur married Lesitte Ann Woolum, the girl he'd been smitten with since childhood, and together they had three children., Tommy, Sheila and Glenn.

A welder by trade, he was employed by several manufacturing plants and attended OSU Tech. in Oklahoma City before going into business for himself. Well known and respected by a wide circle of friends, he will be remembered fondly. Most importantly, he knew and loved the Lord, his family, all babies and his loyal companions Stewie & Jasmine.
 

Preceded in death by his parents, son Thomas Dale and brother Larry Murray.
Survived by his wife, Lesitte, daughter Sheila and husband Shawn Seals, son Glenn and wife, Carolyn Murray, sister Joy and husband Jack Salisbury, grandchildren, Shelby, Shea, Mitchell and Nicholas Seals, Kraig and Kyle Murray and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Thank you Todd Wisdom for re-uniting my dad with his oldest friend, Jesus Christ.
 

Graveside services will be held 2pm Friday, November 16, 2007 at Riverside (Red Hill) Cemetery under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service.

Leroy Powers

Leroy Powers, age 62, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 at his daughter's home in Oklahoma City, after a long period of declining health. He was born August 18, 1945 in Carnegie, OK to Howard L. and Perliemae (Courtney) Powers.

He grew up at Carnegie and was a 1963 graduate of Carnegie High School. He received his degree in accounting from SWOSU in Weatherford. Leroy had a thirty five year career with the US Dept. of the Interior retiring in 2002 as an auditor. He had lived in Mustang the past seventeen years and was an active member of Chisholm Heights Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother Bill and one sister Faye.

Survivors include his mother Perliemae Powers of Carnegie, his wife of forty two years, Verna of the home in Mustang, one son Travis of Oklahoma City, two daughters Tanya Parsells and husband Jeff of Oklahoma City and Tamara Belknap and husband Jim of Bethany. Also by five grandchildren, one brother Mark Powers and one sister Mary Lou Berry both of Carnegie.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Okla./Ark. Chapter of the Alzheimer's Assn'. Donations may be made through the funeral home in Leroy's name.

Services will be held at 10am on Monday,
December 10, 2007 at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church with interment to follow in
Red Hill Cemetery, Mustang, OK under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service.

Dennison Lee Struble

Dennison Lee (Dennis) Struble, died Friday, February 27, 2009 at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born December 6, 1965 in Ponca City, OK to Gilbert Lee and Marjorie (Klinger) Struble.

He grew up in Ponca City and attended school there. He moved to Oklahoma City in 2008. Dennis had worked as a roofer, a painter, land scaper and in general construction before his health forced him to retire.

He is survived by life partner Pattie Goff Struble of the home, his mother and step father Marjorie and Dean Peterson of Kimberling City, MO., one adopted son Michael Hernandez of OKC, one sister Kathleen Diane Struble of Ponca City and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Red Hill Cemetery, Mustang, OK under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Darrell Tyrone Tapley

Darrell Tyrone Tapley, age 55, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 in Oklahoma City. He was born on May 11, 1951 in Thomaston, GA., to Otis Bernard and Agnes (Thomas) Tapley.

Tyrone grew up in Macon, GA., graduated from Willingham High School in Macon GA then entered the U.S. Navy. He worked for Quad Graphics and several years for Yamaha, and moved to Mustang, OK in August 2003. He was a member of The Bridge Assembly of God Church in Mustang.

Tyrone was preceded in death by his father Otis, and one brother Bernard Keith Tapley.

He is survived by one son, Matthew Darrell Tapley and wife Sarah of Tucker, GA, his mother Agnes of Mustang, OK, one brother William Canny Tapley and wife Joelle of Griffin, GA, and one sister, Jennifer Plautz and husband Ron of Yukon, OK and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, March 30, 2007 in the Chapel at The Bridge Assembly of God Church in Mustang, OK, with interment to follow at Riverside (Red Hill) Cemetery in Mustang, under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma  

D. Scott Willis Jr.

D. Scott Willis, Jr, age 24, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at an Oklahoma City hospital after a long period of declining health. He was born February 18, 1984 in Kansas City, MO to Douglas S. and Victoria L. (Lewis) Willis.

He grew up his early childhood in the Kansas City area and moved to Mustang, OK in 1996. He was a 2003 graduate of Mustang High School and studied electrical engineering at Canadian Valley Vo Tech. He worked several years at Larry's Foods in Mustang and has worked recently for C. H. Guernsey and Company as an electrical engineer. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Scott was preceded in death by his great grandparents and one uncle Brian Willis.

Survivors include his mother Vicki Ernst and husband Jayson of Mustang, OK, his father Douglas Scott Willis, Sr. and wife Valerie of Belton, MO, two sisters Melissa Willis of Kansas City, MO and Madison Ernst of Mustang. Also by grand parents Vic and Mary Lewis, Sonny and Virginia Willis and Gary and Darlene Ernst.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Building Fund at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mustang, OK. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 from 1pm until 8pm, with family greeting friends from 6pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mustang with interment following in Red Hill Cemetery, SW of Mustang, under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service.

EIGHTY-NINER DIES

 A. L. Rhoades

El Reno, Okla., May 2 – A. L. Rhoades, and ‘89er and a pioneer citizen of El Reno and Canadian county, died Thursday evening from heart failure, aged 51 years. He leaves a wife and five children. Mr. Rhoades retired Thursday evening at the usual time and in apparently good health and Friday morning was found dead in bed by members of the family.

Prayer service for Francis John Knecht was held Sunday at Holy Trinity Church in Okarche. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at Holy Trinity with Rev. Arul Sundar, Rev. Ed Weisenburger and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating. Burial with military honors was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Mr. Knecht died Sept. 11 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born May 2,1920, in Okarche.
He was a lifetime resident of Okarche. He was employed as a custom home builder. He was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Church and member of Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters and Lions Club, retired member of the Okarche Fire Department and former member of Okarche Board of Education.
He is survived by a son, Gerald Knecht of Okarche; daughters, Jo Ann Knecht of Lawton, Mary Jane Wittrock of Bethany and Barbara Reese of Norman; a brother, Paul Knecht of Okarche; sisters, Dorothy Krittenbrink of Kingfisher and Marie Fiegener of Yukon; and seven grandchildren.

 

 

Clarence H. Kraus

Wake services for Clarence H. Kraus of El Reno were held Monday, May 7 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, May 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Francis Nguyen officiating. Interment was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Okarche.

Mr. Kraus died May 4, 2007, at Parkview Hospital. He was born Jan. 7, 1923, in Kingfisher to his parents, John and Frances (Meimer) Kraus. Clarence grew up in Omega. He attended Omega schools and was a 1941 graduate of Omega High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Agnes Osterholt on May 20, 1947, in Okarche. He and Agnes lived in Okarche for a few years before moving to El Reno in 1950. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Merveldt Farms and URC Oil Company. Clarence was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He received a Citizen of the Year Award for his efforts in the renovation of Legion Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Walter Kraus, Franklin Kraus and Francis Kraus, and a sister, Lucille Rund.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Kraus of the home; a son, Dan Kraus, also of the home; a daughter, Donna Morris and husband, Bill of Goodland, Kan.; grandsons, Chad Bollinger and wife, Andrea of El Reno and Cameron Morris of Goodland, Kan.; a great-granddaughter, Allison Bollinger of El Reno; brothers, John Kraus Jr. and wife, Jeannie of Kingfisher, Robert Kraus and wife, Mary, and Edward Kraus and wife, Agnes, all of Oklahoma City; and a sister, Betty Ivie and husband, Gerald of Oklahoma City.

 

 

George Allen Kretchmar

Prayer service for George Alien Kretchmar was held Friday, Oct. 3 at Holy Trinity Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 at Holy Trinity Church with Revs. Arul Suridar, Marvin Leven and Ed Weisenburger and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating. Burial was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home,
Mr. Kretchmar died Oct. 1,2008, at Bryant Nursing Center in Edmond. He was born Jan. 19,1934, in Kingfisher. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and Army National Guard.
He was a meat market manager at Eischen's Grocery for 47 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Catholic Order of Foresters and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anna (Schell) Kretchmar; a brother, Joe Kretchmar; and sisters, Genevieve Kubat, Margaret Lippoldt, Josephine Jones, Annabell Alpha and Mary Pierson.
He married Mary Ann Eischen on Nov. 23,1957. Mary Ann survives him in death.
He is also survived by three sons, Curtis Kretchmar of Tulsa, Nick Kretchmar and wife, Kim of Edmond and Mike Kretchmar and wife, Laurie of Okarche; three brothers, Francis Kretchmar of El Reno, Edward Kretchmar of Kingfisher and Robert Kretchmar of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Dolores Brooks of Yukon; and six grandchildren, Kaci Kretchmar, Kyle Kretchmar, Josh Kretchmar, Peyton Christian, Austin Kretchmar and Zachary Kretchmar. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Church or Holy Trinity School.
 

 

 

Theresa Margaret Kroener

 

The Wake service for Theresa Margaret Dottie Lippoldt Kroener, 81, of Okarche, will be 7 p.m. today, Feb. 3, 2009, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at the church. The Rev. Marvin Leven and Max Schwarz will officiate at both services. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Okarche. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service, Kingfisher.
She was born in Okarche to Alfred and Teresa Stieferman Lippoldt and died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at St. Ann's in El Reno.
She was raised in Okarche and graduated from Holy Trinity and Okarche Public Schools.
She married Joseph A. Kroener May 18, 1948, in Okarche. She was a homemaker and an Avon Representative. She also was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Alter Society, Avon Presidents Club, and Home Demonstration Club.
Surviving are two sons, Karl Kroener and Tom Kroener, both of Okarche; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, one brother and three sisters.
