Indian Chief’s Land Is Sold At Handsome Price
El Reno Men Pay $33, 868 For Red Plume’s Forty Acres Near Clinton
An El Reno real estate firm has purchased the forty-acre allotment of Red Plume, the Indian Chief, located at Clinton, Okla. The allotment was sold under sealed bids by the interior department at Washington.
The purchasers are L. A. Wilson, president of the First National Bank of El Reno, and John J. Hardin, a real estate broker of the same city. The price paid was $33, 868, the highest price ever paid for acreage in Oklahoma, excepting tracts around Oklahoma City.
The buyers have incorporated under the name of the Red Plume Realty company, with headquarters at Clinton. They expect to plat this land into lots and place it on the market at once.
