Jordan Aaron Corley, 14-year-old resident of Watts, Oklahoma, died March 19, 2008, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Watts.
Born May 17, 1993, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, he was the son of Billy Fuller and Dixie Bolin. He had been a resident of Watts the past 5 years and was a former resident of Hackett, Arkansas. He was an eighth-grade student at Watts Junior High School where he was a member of the football team. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jordan was affiliated with Faith Alive Church in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma.
Survivors include his mother Dixie Patton and his stepfather Charlie Patton of the home; his father Billy Fuller of Arkhoma, Oklahoma; one brother, Jeremy Corley of the home; one sister, Desiree Phillips of the home; one stepbrother, Zachery Fuller of Arkhoma, Oklahoma; and one stepsister, Gabrelle Fuller of Arkhoma , Oklahoma; maternal grandparents, Janice and Steve Hagler of Watts, Oklahoma; paternal grandparents, Martha and Jimmy Kirkpatrick of Roland, Oklahoma; maternal great-grandparents, James and Gertie Taylor of Van Buren, Arkansas, paternal great-grandmother, Glenna Kirkpatrick of Roland, Oklahoma; three uncles, Steve Hagler and his wife Lala of Anaheim, California; Frank Hagler and Aunt Tonya of Kansas, Oklahoma; and Carl Hagler and his wife Amy of New York.. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Allan and Moline Hagler.
Visitation was Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Wasson Chapel. Funeral services wwere Tuesday, March 25, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Alive Church in West Siloam Springs with Rev. Elvin Still officiating. Burial will be in Watts Cemetery with funeral services under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.



Harvey James Cornell
(Aug. 1, 1910-Aug. 3, 2002)
Harvey Cornell, 92, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, in La Puente , Calif. , where he was living with his daughter. The son of Wilson Standford Cornell and Laura (Miller) Cornell, he was born Aug. 1, 1910, in Rocky Comfort, Mo. He was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a machinist for Waste King Universal for 30 years. Survivors include your (four) sons, Henry “Hank” Cornell of Sacramento, Calif., James “Jim” Cornell of Highland, Calif., Thomas “Tom” C. Cornell of Duarte, Calif., and Robert Cornell of LaPuente, Calif.; a daughter, Susan Parent of La Puente, Calif.; two brothers, Hubert Cornell of Boliver, Mo., and Wilson Cornell of Grove, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. After a service in California , Harvey was in Grove, Okla. , for a funeral Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, in the Butler Baptist Church . The interment was in the Southwest City Cemetery . There was a visitation before the funeral on Monday. The local arrangements were under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Okla.

Anita L. Merritt

Anita Louise Merritt, 53, died Friday. Aug. 9, 2002, at her home in Grove, Okla. After a lengthy illness.
Anita Merritt was born Nov. 10, 1948 in Kansas City , Mo. , to Paul and IIoh (Curtis) Ingram. She married Herman “Butch” Merritt, Sr., on Nov. 10, 1966, in Arkansas City , Kan. She worked as a certified medical aid for the state of Kansas . Mrs. Merrit left Arkansas City , Kan. , in 1992. She was a member of the Church of God . Survivors include her husband, Herman “Butch” Merritt, Sr. of Grove; one daughter, Sherry L. Cargile of Grove; two sons, Herman W. Merritt, Jr., and wife Melissa of Grove, and Mark Merritt and wife Michelle of Newton, Kan.; her parents, Paul and IIoh Ingram; one brother, Ron nie Joe Ingram of Emporia, Kan.; two sisters, Pam Pitts of Newkirk, Okla., and Paulette Luginsland of Beato, Kan.; and 15 grandchildren. Graveside services were held Tuesday Aug. 13, 2002 at Butler Cemetery with the Rev. William Springer officiating, Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at the funeral home.Services were under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Okla.

Shirley J. Vaughn
Shirley June Vaughn, daughter of the late Claude and Fern (Holland) Rakes, was born on February 14, 1935 in Grove Oklahoma. She was embraced by the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 2, 2006 at the home of her daughter in Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of seventy-one years. Shirley was raised in Grove, Oklahoma and was a 1953 graduate of Grove High School. She received a scholarship to Muskogee Beauty College, where she began her lifelong career as a Beautician and later owner of "Shirley's Beauty Shop" in Southwest City, Missouri. On August 2, 1968 she was united in marrage to John Franklin Vaughn who bravely took on the responsibility of raising three little girls. She retired in 2002 and she and John moved from Southwest City to their log home in the woods near Grove. Shirley was a longtime faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Missouri where she served as a devoted Prayer Warrior. After she and John went to live at the Betty Ann Nursing Home in Grove, she continued doinr the Lords work. Following the home going of her beloved husband John, Shirley went to live with Rick and Patsy in Grove. If you never had the pleasure of knowing Shirley, please take the time to open up Gods word to the book of Proverbs chapter 31 verses 10-31/ We her family believe that this best describes our Mama's life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of thirty-eight years, John Franklin Vaughn on September 19, 2006. Shirley is burvived by her three grateful daughters, Cheryl Cooper and husband, Travis, of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, Pam Hasty and husband, Rick, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Patsy Pritchard and husband, Rick, of Grove, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and patiently awaiting the arrival of number ten; and the precious staff of Betty Ann Nursing Home, Good Shepherd Hospice, and M&M Loving Care of Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Shirley June Vaughn were 2:00p.m. Friday, October 6, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Missouri with Reverend Ray Clanton officiating. Burial followed in the Cayuga Mission Cemetery east of Grove, Oklahoma. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers were Paul Bates, Keith Lindquist, Doug Holly, Dan Frye, Wayne Holly and Dave Collingsworth. Honorary pallbearers were Walt North, Doren Brown, Ray Dean Horton, Frank McKee, W.D. Graves and Bob Wetzel.
