Dripping Springs

Tussy,
Oklahoma
Dripping Springs is located East on the road that is
Garvin County and Carter County line. It is
way off the road
up an
oil field road.
The oil company
keeps
the road
passable. You
must
contact the owner
of the farm for
admission to the
cemetery, and
he
has
indicated that he
may be
removing
the
fencing
to
allow
his
cattle to
graze. This
cemetery
is a
small
family
cemetery
which was
part of
William
"Bill"
and
Henrieta
Riddle's
Indian
land
allotment. Most
everyone
buried
there
is
related
to
the
McCartys
(except
according
to
the
McCartys)
for
a
few
people who
were
passing
through
during
an
epidemic of
some sort
(diphtheria,
small
pox,
?) and
the
family
allowed
them to be
buried
there.
Many young
McCarty
children
died
during
this
same
epidemic
and
are
also
buried
here. Some
in
unmarked
graves.
