Mrs. Cast and her children left Acme in 1930, after the Acme mill, where Lavora's brothers were employed, closed down.  They moved to Oklahoma City, where the family home has been since that time.

Lavora was active in church work here, and at the time of her death was a willing worker in the Eastern Avenue Baptist church in Oklahoma City.  She was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. The cause of Lavora's death was a fractured skull, received last Thursday while riding in a car with Frank Kruta, 20-year-old Oklahoma City youth, she became nervous and jumped from the moving car.  Neither Lavora nor Kruta could give a reason for her action, Lavora stated simply that she became nervous, and later that there was no cause for charges to be preferred against Kruta.
Kruta stated that he was taking Lavora to the home in which she had employment, and after the accident he took her to a point near her own home, where she stated that she did not need medical attention, got out of his car and walked to her home.

From her home, Lavora was quickly taken to an Oklahoma City hospital, where it was determined that her skull was fractured.  Her condition became worse early Saturday and she passed away that morning, her body being brought to Rush Springs that evening for the last rites.

Surviving are her mother; three sisters, Mrs. Alta Guinn of Ward, Ark., Mrs. Opie Kendrick of Breckenridge, Texas, and Mrs. Esta Deatherage of Oklahoma City; two brothers, O. J.
