Uma Mae Crumm
Funeral services were held 26-May-1992 at 2 p.m. in the
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel at Rush Springs for Una Mae
Crumm. Burial was in the Rush Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Crumm was born 06-Aug-1922 in Oklahoma City. She married
06-Sep-1936 Samuel Jacob Crumm at Verden. She had lived at Rush
Springs the past 12 years. She was a member of the Southern Baptist
Church in Gabbs, Nev.
Survivors include her husband, one son, one daughter, four
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Dormalee M. “Bernard”
Cummins
Born to Cicero and Maxie (Travis) Bernard, in Dewey, she was a
member of the Church of Christ of Rush Springs.
On Sept. 26, 1947, she married Bill Cummins, in College Station,
Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors in addition to her husband, Bill, of the home include, two
daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and John Humphrey of Rush Springs,
and Jan and Paul Wilson of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were John Humphrey, Bill Sweat, James Heath,
Paul Wilson, David Humphrey, and Mario Carrillo.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, at the
Church of Christ with Clif Werhan officiating. Burial was held in
the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb
Funeral Home in Rush Springs.

Marvin Curtis

Marvin Curtis, age 82 of Purcell passed away January 26, 2004 at his
home.
He was born February 16, 1921 in Rush Springs OK. He was the
youngest of four children born to Moses Reason Curtis and Emma Belle
Cast Curtis. He grew up on a farm near Rush Springs where he
graduated from High School.
He married Wenona Walling Curtis on Feb 26, 1944 in Marlow. He
served in the US Army during WWII and was stationed in Germany and
France. Marvin was awarded three Bronze Service Medals, the Good
Conduct Medal and the EAME Service Ribbon. They lived in Rush
Springs until 1958 when they moved to Purcell. While in Purcell he
worked in the automobile business most of his live, retiring in
1994. He was a member of the Purcell First Baptist Church and the
Purcell Municipal Hospital Auxiliary.
He enjoyed the outdoors where he like to fish and work in his yard.
He was and avid baseball and OU football fan. Marvin's kind heart,
generous spirit and gentle humor blessed and enriched all who knew
and loved him. He will live forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Emma Curtis, two
sisters, Bell Tedder and Faye Tedder, and one brother Lelan Curtis.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wenona; two daughters,
Vickie Sander of Portland OR and Paula Roaten and husband Shelly of
Irving TX; four grandchildren, Curtis Sander and his wife Becky,
Lisa Sander, Kim Roaten; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30,
2004 at Rush Springs Cemetery, Rush Springs OK. A memorial service
to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January
31, 2004 at Wilson Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell with
Chaplain Rob mason officiating.

Raleigh A. Curtis

RALEIGH A. CURTIS, 85, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away
Monday, March 28, 2005 in Norman, Oklahoma.
Raleigh was born May 4, 1919 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma to Anna May
Curtis and Thomas A. Curtis. He was raised in Rush Springs, Oklahoma
and graduated from Sterling High School.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army for four years
during World War II. He landed with the 7th Infantry Division the
first day of the Philippine invasion. He was awarded the Bronze Star
and the Purple Heart.
In 1942, Raleigh married Oleta Blades of Rush Springs in the chapel
at Camp San Louis Obispo, California. Raleigh and Oleta made a home
in Midwest City, Oklahoma in 1946.
Raleigh was employed at Tinker Field Air Force Base for 33 years
until his retirement in 1974. During retirement years, Raleigh and
Oleta traveled the country, spending many summers in the mountains
and winters in south Texas. Along the way they made many friends and
cherished those times. Raleigh enjoyed gardening, tinkering on cars,
fishing, his dog Libby, and being with his family. He loved times
when his grandchildren would come to Lake Eufaula and spend a few
days fishing and sitting out by the fire. He enjoyed attending his
grandchildren's school
programs and ball games. Raleigh had a strong work ethic and tried
to instill that in his children. He loved and was proud of his
country.
Raleigh is survived by his wife of 62 years, Oleta; son, Philip
Curtis; daughters, Jennifer Bentley, and Anita Ray and her husband
Gerald. He will always be 'Gramps' to his seven grandchildren: Scott
Bentley and his wife Debbie of Midwest City, Okla., Jeff Bentley and
his wife Michele of Houston, Texas, Cescily, Amy, and Kerry Curtis
of Midwest City, Katie and Zach Ray of Midwest City, and his five
great-grandchildren: Rayna, Raegan, and Bryce Bentley of Midwest
City, and Madison and Jordan Bentley of Houston, Texas, and sister
Ann Curry of Midwest City. His parents, sister Grace Blades, sister
Lelia Mae Schotts, and brother Aaron L. Curtis preceded him in
death.
Dad you will truly be missed. Thank you for being such a great role
model to all of us. You were a true 'Gentleman' and our hero.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 1st at First Baptist
Church of Midwest City under the direction of Ford Funeral Service.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Rush Springs
Cemetery.

Helen Dalston
HELEN (COLEMAN) DALSTON, 82, of Grapevine, Texas, passed away
Sunday, July 30, 2006 in Grapevine.
Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at the
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs with Rev. Elmer Whitehead
officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery, under the
direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.
Helen was born Thursday, January 31, 1924 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma,
to the late Ben H. and the late Hattie K. (Moore) Coleman. Helen
attended the Oak Grove school and graduated from Rush Springs High
School. After high school she attended Cameron University. Helen was
raised in Rush Springs, moved to Norman, then to Ann Arbor, Mich.,
Houston, Texas and finally Euless, Texas. She enjoyed playing golf,
reading, and was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels. Helen was of the
Methodist faith.
Survivors include a brother, Fred Coleman and wife Opal of Oklahoma
City, Okla.; a sister, June Preuss and husband Emmett of Euless,
Texas; two nieces and six nephews, including Steve Preuss of Euless,
Texas.
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher A. Dalston;
parents; two brothers, Harold Coleman and Leon Coleman, and their
wives, Ruth and Charlene.
Pallbearers will be Stephan J. Preuss, Douglas K. Preuss, Larry
Coleman and Joe Coleman.

Leota Lee Davis
Leota was born to the Rev. William Eldred and Alma Lorene (Young)
Smith. Leota attended and graduated from Marlow schools. She worked
at the Marlow bus station and helped take care of her mother and
father. She met and married Frank Alvin Davis on Nov. 25, 1949, when
she was working at the bus station. The Davis family lived near
Marlow from 1949 to 1957, then moved to the Gillespie Ranch near
Tishomingo, where they lived from 1957 to 1963. On June 1, 1963, the
family moved to the Spencer Bernard farm east of Rush Springs.
During this time, Leota began work as a domestic engineer and during
the fall worked at Bernard Enterprises. She enjoyed working,
talking, and assisting customers during the hectic 11- to 12-hour
days, seven days a week. She continued to work at the “peanut plant”
for the next 36 years, eventually having to quit because of failing
health.
Frank retired in February 1989, and they moved to Robinson’s Landing
by Lake Lawtonka near Lawton. After Frank’s death, Leota moved into
Lawton to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a volunteer
at Reynolds Army Community Hospital. Her total number of volunteer
hours over the past 15-plus years was 26,541.5. She was inducted
into the Volunteer Hall of Fame in 1993 and has remained in the Hall
of Fame each year since. Leota was a member of the Slaton Home
Demonstration Club and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star,
Marlow Chapter #38. She was a member of the Marlow Cumberland
Presbyterian Church, but attended the First Baptist Church in
Lawton.
Leota is survived by a daughter, Pam Burnett, and her husband Loy,
of Lawton; a sister, Mary Belle Griggs of Lawton; a sister-in-law,
Rose Orene Smith; a niece, Melodie Wonderly and her husband Roger,
and a nephew, Kevin Smith and his wife Kathy, all of Oklahoma City;
sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys Nix, Hattie Bowman, Nora
McCarty, Peggy and Ernest Alexander, M.B. (Mutt) and Lucille Davis,
and Joe and Nellie Davis; and many special nieces, nephews,
grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and special friends.
Leota was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant
daughter and a brother.
Services were held Friday, Sept. 16, at the First Baptist Church of
Lawton, with Dr. Gary W. Cook, pastor, and Pastor David Hale of the
Vimy Ridge Baptist Church in Rush Springs officiating. Burial was
held in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral
Home of Lawton.

Lester Davis

Duncan - Funeral for LESTER DAVIS, 77, Duncan, will be at 2 p.m.
today at Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ron Meadors
officiating.
Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at his home.
Burial will be at Rush Springs Cemetery under direction of Bailes-Polk
Funeral Home.
He was born March 5, 1925, at Glendale, Ariz., to George W. and
Gurthie Phillips Davis. He served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 26,
1944, to Sept. 30, 1950. He married Mamie Lewis at Flagstaff, Ariz.
She died in January 1978. He married Patricia Jean Gaede on Dec. 28,
1978, in Duncan. He moved to Duncan from Fletcher 24 years ago. He
was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church. He worked in civil
service at Fort Sill for 34 years, and for the Grandview School
district 10 years. He was also the groundskeeper for Bethel Assembly
of God Church for many years.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons and a
daughter-in-law: E.R. Gaede, Norman; Robert and Anna Davis, Eau
Claire, Wis.; and Kevin Gaede, Oklahoma City; nine daughters and
sons-in-law: Ellen and Max Clarke, Lenore, N.C.; Kathy and Wayne
Martin, White Hall, Ark.; Kathie and Gerald Beasley, Duncan; Sandie
and Johnny Roy, Edmond; Marcella and Dan Maxwell, Amarillo, Texas;
Jully and Jim Hirsch, Stanton, Ill.; Diana and Russell Plummer,
Gower, Mo.; Lesley and David Hurta, Clute, Texas; and Penny and
Charles Chaney, Duncan; 34 grandchildren; and 24
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four
sisters.

Mary Katherine Davis
Graveside services for Mary Katherine Davis, 64, of Rush Springs,
Okla., will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002. Jerome
McCalvin will officiate.
Mary Katherine Davis was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Olustee, Okla, and
died on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at her home in Rush Springs.
Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel of
Rush Springs.

Mirle B. "Mutt" Davis
Rush Springs: Mirle Bradley "Mutt" Davis, 83, Rush Springs,
Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2007 in Marlow.
Services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, September 7, 2007, at the
Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs, with Bro. David Woods
officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the
direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Mutt was born Sunday, May 25, 1924 in Jesse, Oklahoma, to Waymon
Thomas and Hannah Louise (Meyer) Davis. He attended school at
Slaton. He had lived in Slaton school district east of Rush Springs
since 1944. Mutt married Minnie Lucille Son on November 16, 1943 in
Duncan, OK. He retired after 20 years from Grady County District #3
as shop foreman. Mutt was also a retired Fire Chief of Rush Springs
Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren,
working, fishing, camping and just being outside mowing the lawn. He
also enjoyed reading, listening to music and shooting the bull with
people. Mutt was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Rush
Springs.

Thada Bell Davis
Funeral services for Thada Bell Davis, 85, of Verden will be at 2:00
p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2003, in the Southern Baptist Church,

Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel.
Thada was born May 26, 1918, in Rush Springs to Luther and Nanny
(Carry) Gilpin and died Saturday, November 29, 2003, in the Grave
Living Center.
On September 2, 1943, she married Floyd E. Davis in Marlow. He
preceded her in death in 1978.
She was a lifelong resident of the Rush Springs area. She enjoyed
quilting, loved to travel and work in her garden. She enjoyed
attending her Sunday School Class and loved to cook peanut butter
cookies.
Survivors include: Son: David Davis and wife Jo Vaughn, Verden; two
grandsons: Landon and Patrick Davis of Verden; one sister-in-law:
Jean Gilpin and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; 1 brother; 1
sister, 2 daughters: Pamela and Pauline Davis.
Songs included: Amazing Grace, I'll Meet You In The Morning; Green
Pastures and I'm Going Home. Singers were: Candy McGhyghy, Karen
Goodwin and Karen Payne.

Helen Sue DeBerry
Duncan: Helen Sue DeBerry, 69, Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Friday,
February 1, 2008 in Duncan.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday,
February 5, 2008, at the Rush Springs Cemetery with Maj. Larry
DeBerry officiating. Services are under the direction of
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
Helen was born Monday, April 4, 1938 in Clifton, Tennessee, to Frank
and Ora (Devers) Stricklin. She graduated high school from Clifton,
Tennessee. She lived in California before moving to Rush Springs 23
years ago. Helen married Bobby Sam DeBerry on July 1, 1956 in
Carenth, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1990.
Helen retired after 30 years of working for Wheels as their
secretary. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts and cooking.

Opal Francis Decker
Funeral service for Opal Francis Decker, 90, of Rush Springs, will
be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2001, in the Southern
Baptist Church with Rev. Elmer Whitehead officiating.
Opal was born August 18, 1911, at Four Mile, Grady Co., Oklahoma, to
Richard Benjamin Winchester and Mary Alice (Wilkerson) Winchester.
She married Doyle Dee Decker September 13, 1930, in Duncan. He
preceded her in death October 19, 1969.
She was a housewife and a sales clerk at Otasco.
Opal lived in the Rush Springs area all of her life. She was well
known through her work at the Rexall Drug Store, Corner Drug Store,
Dena's, Himes Western Auto and City Utilities.
She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church, Rush Springs.
Survivors include: son: Aaron D. Decker and wife Velma of Oklahoma
City; daughter: Linda Saunders and husband Joe of Moore; 2 sisters:
Pearl Brown of Arlington, TX, and Matilda Loar of Las Vegas, NV; 4
grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

"Funeral Services Held For Grover Cleveland Delay
Funeral services for Grover Cleveland Delay were held a the Churchof
Christ Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., Rev. Leroy Cowan officiating.
Bill heilman led the song service with 'What a Friend' and 'Sweet
by and By'.
The interment was in the Rush Springs cemetery.
Grover Cleveland Delay was born at West Plains, Missouri, October
19,1894 and departed this life October 19, 1949 in the University
Hospital,Oklahoma City at the
age of 56 years.
He spent the greater part of his life near Rush Springs. He was
married to Florence Hart on August 26, 1913. To this union was born
three children.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Delay of Rush Springs; one
daughter, Mrs. M.D. Gilbreath of Rush Springs; two sisters, Bertha
Wilhite of Cortez, Colorado, and Lara Doss of Mt. Home, Idaho; and
four brothers, N.H. Delay of McPherson, Kansas, E. R. Delay of
McPherson,Kansas, W.N. Delay of Long Beach, California, and John
Delay of Melton, Oregon.

Henry Greene Delk
Funeral services for Henry Greene Delk, 76 of Rush Springs, were
held Saturday, April 23, 1988 at 1;30 pm from the Chapel of Sevier
Funeral Home in Chickasha. Rev. Bill Emert of Oklahoma City
officiated with Ron Morton, assisting.
Delk was born January 9, 1912 in Frederick and died Thursday, April
21, 1988 in Oklahoma City.
He had lived in the Ninnekah area for about 50 years before moving
to Rush Springs in 1981. Delk and Lucy K. Schrick were married on
October 25, 1932 in Mangum.
Delk had farmed at Frederick and Ninnekah and retired in 1977 from
the Norge Gas Plant at Ninnekah. He had worked there for 23 years.
He was preceded in death by two children; Thomas Burton Delk and
Mary Alice Delk.
Survivors are his wife, Mary, of the home; five sons, Joe of
Oklahoma City, Earl of Duncan, Mickey of Rush Springs, Sammy of
Chickasha and Carl of Norman; 3 daughters, Alma Turner of Duncan,
Kathy Hale and Mary Kay Christain both of Ninnekah; one brother, Mac
T. Delk of Ninnekah; one sister, Lillian Morton of Oklahoma City;
twenty two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Organist was Ima Jean Rice and soloist was Steve Wendt.
Burial was in Rush Springs Cemetery with grandsons and
granddaughters serving as pallbearers."

Lucy K. Delk
Funeral Mass for Lucy K. Delk, 89, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, will
be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2003, at the Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Marlow. Wake service will be held at
7:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home,
Chickasha.
Lucy K. Delk was born October 17, 1913, in Enid, Oklahoma, the
daughter of Augustus and Abbie Maria (Bichel) Schrick, and died July
22, 2003, in Chickasha.
Mrs. Delk lived most of her life in the Rush Springs and Ninnekah
areas.
She and Henry Greene Delk were married October 27, 1932, in Manitou,
Oklahoma. He preceded her in death April 21, 1988.
She was also preceded in death by: 1 daughter: Mary Alice Delk; 2
sons: Thomas Burton Delk, Henry Mac "Mickey" Delk; 1 sister and 6
brothers; 1 grandson.
Survivors include: 4 sons: William Joseph Delk of Rush Springs,
James Earl Delk and wife, Marylyn, of Marlow, Samuel Hobart Delk and
wife, Amelia, of Ninnekah, Albert Carl Delk of Oklahoma City; 3
daughters: Florence Alma Turner and husband, John, of Duncan,
Katherine Ann Hale of Bethany, Mary Kay Danford and husband, Steve,
of Chickasha; 21 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 2 great,

Ethel May Dorman

Marlow — Funeral for ETHEL MAY DORMAN, 92, Marlow, was Monday at
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in the Rush Springs Cemetery, under the direction of
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dorman died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at a Lawton hospital.
She was born Oct. 19, 1910, in Maretto, to Joseph Augusta and Minnie
Overstreet Tabler. She married Alton Franklin Dorman on Dec. 24,
1925. He died in 1982. She lived in the Rush Springs area all her
life and was a member of Rush Springs Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Minnie Dorman, and a son and
daughter-in-law, Bill and Jan Dorman, all of Rush Springs; and many
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe and
Auther Tabler; and a grandson, David Leverton.

Helen Naomia Dorman
Mrs. Helen Naomia Dorman, 75, who had been ill about one year, died
at her home, 206 East Cheyenne, Marlow, on Saturday, Jan. 5, 1957,
at 3:25 pm. - She was born in Sulligent, Ala., on Nov. 9, 1882. Her
marriage was to W. F. Dorman on July 21, 1918, at Rising Star,
Texas. She had lived in Marlow for 25 years and was a member of the
Pentecostal Church of God. - Survivors include her husband of the
home address; seven sons, Rufus and Walter, Rush Springs, Henry,

Angeles, Calif. - Also three brothers, W. O. Watson and Redden
Watson of Marlow, and Leona Watson of Rising Star; and one sister,
Mrs. Inez Self, Seymour, Texas. Also 70 grandchildren and 80
great-grandchildren. - Services were held in the Pentecostal Church
of God, Seventh and Nabor, on Monday at 2:00 pm, conducted by Rev.
C. E. VansCoy, pastor. Burial was in the Rush Springs Cemetery with
arrangements by Callaway-Smith Funeral Home. - Grandsons served as

Lillie Flavilla "Tye" Dorman, 97, of Rush Springs died Wednesday,
March 3, 2004, in Marlow.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, in the
Church of Christ in Rush Springs with Daryn Brantley, Bryan Brantley
and Arlyn Brantley officiating.
Burial was in Rush Springs Cemetery, Rush Springs under the
direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dorman was born April 4, 1906 in Tillman County, Oklahoma
Territory, the daughter of Swannie Richey and Zora Vanscoder Richey.
She and Rufus Dorman were married February 19, 1929 in Grady County,
Okla.
Tye came by train to the Norge community in Grady County in 1913
with her family. They moved to the Agawam community in 1918. It was
while playing some great baseball at Agawam School that she earned
her nickname "Tye", after the famous ballplayer Ty Cobb. Tye
graduated from Ninnekah High School in 1926. Following graduation,
she worked for a time at the Kress Variety Store in downtown
Chickasha. She has lived in Rush Springs since 1929. She attended
every Watermelon Festival from 1940 until 2003 when a broken hip
kept her from attending. She received the Pioneer Award from the
Rush Springs Retail Merchants in 1997. She was a member of the Bon
Temps Club for over 50 years and was the oldest member of the Church
of Christ in Rush Springs. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sons,
Terrell Dorman and wife Imogene; Darrell Dorman; and infant son,
Connie Dean; stepson, Randall Dorman and wife Betty; grandson,
Randall Dorman Jr.; great grandson, Bradley Dillon Brantley; brother
Leslie Richey; sister, Rena Compton; and one niece, Ruby Emerick.
Survivors include, daughter, Annys Brantley and Larry of Rush
Springs, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Lottie Dorman of Ponca City,
Okla.; four grandsons, Dr Gary Dorman of Ponca City, Okla., Daryn
Brantley of Rush SPrings, Okla.,Bryan Brantley of Apache Okla., and
Arlyn Brantley of Rush Springs, Okla.; four granddaughters, Linda
Dorman of Tulsa, Okla., Marisa Brantley of Rush Springs, Okla., Mary
Lou Dorman of Hobbs, N.M., and Terre Gene Dorman of California; six
great grandchildren, Whitney Dorman of Ponca City, Okla., Andrew
Dorman of Ponca City, Okla., Kelly Gale of Tulsa, Okla., Blair
Brantley of Rush Springs, Okla., Tommy Dodson of Hobbs, N.M. and
Heather Payne of Hobbs, N.M.; two sisters, Arvilla Duke of Chickasha
Okla., and Alice Robertson of Rush Springs, Okla.; niece Myra Lois
Fitch of San Antonio, Texas and three nephews, Woody Robertson of
Rush Springs, Okla., Leonard Richey of Rhome, Texas and Rondal
Compton of Lawton, Okla.
Pallbearers were Gary Dorman, Daryn Brantley, Bryan Brantley, Arlyn
Brantley, Leonard Richey, Rondal Compton, and Woody Robertson.

Rush Springs - WILLIAM AUGUSTA "BILL" DORMAN, 81, of rush Springs,
Okla., passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, in Chickasha.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Church of Christ in Rush
Springs, with Rev. Eddie Coast and James Stowers officiating. Burial
will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
Bill was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Rush Springs, to Alton Dorman and
Ethel Tabler Dorman.
Bill lived in Monahans, Texas, and Saugus, Calif., before returning
to Rush Springs in 1976. He attended school in Rush Springs and
graduated high school in Monahans. After high school, Bill joined
the U.S. Navy and served during World War II as a Seaman First
Class.
He married Janice Henderson on Feb. 27, 1970, in California. He was
the owner of Dorman and Sons Construction for over 30 years. Bill
was an Eagle Scout and a member of the DAV, VFW and AFL-CIO. Bill
was a master carpenter and a Little League coach.
He enjoyed bowling, archery, fishing, hunting and golf. Bill also
enjoyed going to flea markets. He loved his pets and all animals.
Bill was a Yellow Dog Democrat and on the roll of the First United
Methodist Church in Rush Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Dorman of the home; two sons, Butch
Dorman and wife Tracy of Marlow, and State Rep. Joe Dorman of Rush
Springs; two daughters, Kathy Stowers and husband James of Rush
Springs, and Billie Coast and husband Eddie of Geronimo; seven
grandchildren, Sarah Wheeler, Jennifer Stowers, Keith and Melissa
Coast, Chris and Melissa Coast, Samantha and Paul Sessums, Justin
Guffey and Jaycee Guffey; six great-grandchildren, Tristan Wheeler,
Rebekah Wheeler, Dillon Coast, Jaden Coast, Jack Coast, and baby
girl Coast (on the way); a sister, Minnie Mae "Mickey" Dorman of
Rush Springs; and other family members, including Frank and Brenda
Leverton and Drew, the Jason Leverton family, the David Leverton
family, Karen and Stephanie Bearce, the Donnie and Sallye Henderson
family, and the Richard and Earline Yates family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; a nephew,
David Leverton; Uncle Joe Tabler and Uncle Arthur Tabler.
Pallbearers will be Keith Coast, Chris Coast, Paul Sessums, Daryn
Brantley, Bryan Brantley and Arlyn Brantley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Leverton, David Leverton, Jaycee
Guffey and Justin Guffey.

Christine M. Doughty
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, 01-Oct-1985 in
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel of Rush Springs for Christine M.
Doughty, 71, who died 29-Sep-1985 at Chickasha. Rev. K. E. Rains of
Chickasha, officiated. Burial was in the Rush Springs Cemetery with
her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Doughty was born 20-Feb-1914 in Alderson, Pittsburg county, Ok.
She married Frank V. Doughty in McAlester, Pittsburg county, Ok. on
28-Aug-1928. Mrs. Doughty lived in the Rush Springs area for 45
years.
Survivors include her husband, three sons, four daughters, two
brothers, two sisters, 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren

Rush Springs - Longtime Rush Springs resident FRANK B. DOUGHTY, 81,
Route 1, Rush Springs, died Monday, June 12, 1989, at a Chickasha
hospital after a lengthy illness.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb
Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs, with the Rev. Kim Hayes of Chickasha
officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery.
Born Sept. 17, 1907, in Mena, Ark., Mr. Doughty had lived in Rush
Springs for the past 50 years and was a retired farmer. He married
Christine Holbert on Aug. 28, 1928, in McAlester. She died Sept. 29,
1985. A son, Tommy Doughty, died July 27, 1985, and a grandson,
Larry Christian, died March 13, 1989.
Survivors include four daughters, Pauline Crow and Edna Christian,
both of Chickasha, Dorothy Cook of Marlow, and Billie Crow of
Geronimo; two sons, Raymond Doughty of Chickasha, and Carl Doughty
of Rush Springs; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Carra Mary Dowling, 85, of Rush Springs, Okla., are

DOUGLAS LYNN DOWLING, 53, former Rush Springs resident, passed away
Wednesday, January 24, 2007 in Arlington, Texas.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Southern Baptist Church in
Rush Springs, with Rev. Elmer Whitehead officiating. Burial will be
in the Rush Springs Cemetery, under the direction of
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
Doug was born July 11, 1953 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Don and
Barbara Scott Dowling. He received his bachelor's degree from
Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and worked as a pharmacist.
He lived the past year in Arlington, Texas. He enjoyed working on
computers, cars and appliances for his family and friends. Doug was
a member of the Restoration Church in Euless, Texas.
His survivors include two sons, Christopher Dowling of Gunter,
Texas, and Brett Dowling and wife Andra of Dallas, Texas; three
daughters, Andra Dowling, Brianna Esquivel and Alyssa Esquivel, all
of Dallas, Texas; a grandchild, Bryan Dowling of Dallas; his
parents, Don and Barbara Scott Dowling of Frisco, Texas; two
brothers, Jeff Dowling and wife Pam of Plano, Texas, and Brad
Dowling and wife Jenny of Double Oak, Texas; a sister, Dee Ann
Crosby and husband Bill of Flower Mound, Texas; several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services for F. D. "Pat" Dowling, 84, of Rush Springs,
Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Southern

F. D. "Pat" Dowling was born June 27, 1920, in Blodgett, MO., and
died on Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Hearthstone Assisted Living in
Bedford, Texas.

Graveside service for Arvilla Inez Richey Duke, 94, of Chickasha,
Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2005 at the
Rush Springs Cemetery.
Arvilla Inez Richey Duke was born May 2, 1911 in Tillman County,
Oklahoma the daughter of Swan Adow and Zora Cornelius (Vanscoder)
Richey and died August 8, 2005 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
She and Ray Duke were married August 15, 1931 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma.
They lived in California prior to World War II. After the War, they
returned to Oklahoma living near Duncan and Purcell.
She moved to Chickasha after the death of her husband in 1961.
She was preceded in death by husband, February 21, 1961; one
brother, Leslie Richey; two sisters, Irena Compton and Allred Flavia
Dorman.
Survivors include one sister, Alice Robinson of Duncan, Oklahoma;
six nephews; Ron Compton and wife Joy of Paris, Texas, Leonard
Richey and wife Marge of Texas, Woody Mac Robinson of Ninnekah, Ron
Duke and wife Leona of Ninnekah, Deon Duke and wife Mona of Ninnekah,
Danny Lane of Arizona; two nieces; Annys Brantley and husband Larry
of Rush Springs, Myra Lois Fitch and husband Ken of Texas.
Interment will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction
of Sevier Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Inez (Jeter) Duke, 87, of Lakeside, Calif.,
formerly of Rush Springs, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday,
May 29, 2003, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, Rush Springs. Rev.
Elmer Whitehead will officiate.
Inez (Jeter) Duke was born Nov. 15, in Hall County, Texas, and died
on Thursday, May 22, 2003, at her home in Lakeside.
Burial will be in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of
Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel.
