Funeral service for Brandon Lew Homme, 18, of Tuttle, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2007 at the First Assembly of God Church, Tuttle. Brandon Lew Homme was born June 5, 1989 in Fontana, California and died July 16, 2007 in Oklahoma City. Brandon moved to Tuttle at the age of 4 and attended Tuttle Schools. He would have been a senior this year at Tuttle High School. Brandon raised longhorn cattle with his grandpa, Kenny Estes, and participated in the Tuttle parades riding on his grandpa’s 1937 John Deere Tractor. Brandon loved to fish, ride 4-wheelers and especially loved his family and friends. Through Brandon’s passing, he will be contributing to saving many lives through his organ donations. He was preceded in death by: His grandfather: Lew Homme, Sr. Survivors include: Mother and stepfather: Annette and Jeff Watts “Dad” of Tuttle; Father: Lew Homme, Jr. of Moore; two brothers: Brad Homme of Tuttle; Kyle Homme of Mustang; one sister: Lacey Marie Homme of Tuttle; Maternal grandparents: Kenneth and Elsie Estes of Tuttle; Paternal grandmother: Elsie Homme of Beaumont, CA; Grandparents: William and Diana (Grandi) Watts of Tuttle; Many aunts, uncles, and cousins including “Cuz” Ashley Spellman of Tuttle. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.
Funeral service for Lucille Gann Thomas, 93, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2006 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Reverend Rick Forthman, pastor of the Ninnekah United Methodist Church, will be officiating. Lucille Gann Thomas departed this life on April 17, 2006 at Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 17 days. Lucille was born September 30, 1912, three miles west of Ninnekah to Thomas Grover and Dora (Miller) Gann. Lucille grew up on the farm and in Ninnekah, graduating in 1930. She attended Oklahoma College for Women, graduating with a degree in Business in 1934. She was a legal secretary for various law firms including Hatcher and Bond, Clarence McElroy, retiring from Vaughn, Stack, Huckaby and Frailey, May 1, 1981. She was very proud of her Indian heritage, being one-quarter Chickasaw. She enjoyed many vacations to Arizona to sight see and collect Indian jewelry with members of her family. She also loved to read, reading several books per week. Lucille married George W. Thomas of Ninnekah on June 6, 1981 in Chickasha. They enjoyed extensive travel, including thirty countries, before a stroke incapacitated her in 1992. She had resided in the Christian Care/Glenhaven Home for many years. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother, Reford Gann, and her husband, George W. Thomas. Survivors include her stepson, Dr. Mike Thomas and wife Barbara of Ninnekah; granddaughter, Michele Thomas. Flanagan of Lawton and grandson Joseph H. Thomas and wife Valerie of Gilbert, Arizona; and five great- grandchildren. Also brother-in-law Max Thomas and wife Barbara of Ninnekah; and many other relatives and friends. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ninnekah United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Alex, OK 73002.
Lindsay: Monty Steven Brown, 58, Lindsay, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009 in Lindsay. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the Glory Bound Church, with Rev. David Woods officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma. Monty was born Wednesday, January 3, 1951 in Monmoth, Illinois, to Mark Brown, Sr. and Louise Willman Brown. Monty grew up in Rush Springs and graduated from Rush Springs High School in 1969. He had lived in the Lindsay area for the last six years. Monty served six years in the Oklahoma National Guard. Monty married Sherri Dawn Howell on July 16, 1990 in Purcell, OK. He was a retired welder and worked for Super Flow Testers for several years. Monty was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lindsay. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially hunting mushrooms. He had a green thumb and loved his garden. Monty was a real nature lover. He was a true people person, who found a friend in everyone he met. Monty had accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. Survivors include; Wife, Sherri Brown of the home, 3 sons, Steven Brown of Marlow, OK, Kevin Brown of Marlow, OK and Holden Brown of Lindsay, OK, Daughter, Sissel Brown of Lindsey, OK, 6 Grandchildren, 2 brothers, Mark Brown Jr and wife Sharron of Rush Springs, OK and Mike Brown and wife Nelda of Rush Springs, OK, 4 sisters, Marilyn Blades and husband Lynn of McLoud, OK, Sallie Stewart and husband Bobby of Rush Springs, OK, Margie Williams and husband Ron of Urbanna, VA, Melady Gorham and husband Carl of Theodore, AL host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece, Misty Stewart.
Rush Springs: Bobby Lee Davis, 87, Rush Springs, OK, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Rush Springs. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, with Terry Beard officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. Bobby was born Tuesday, March 7, 1922 in Elgin, OK, to Osa Finn Davis and Eva Ann Warden Davis. He attended Rush Springs High School. Bobby was a lifetime resident of Rush Springs. He enjoyed working in his garden and reading. Bobby liked fishing for whatever he could catch. Survivors include, Brother, Ocie M. Davis of Rush Springs, OK, Brother-in-law, C.L. Woody of El Reno, OK, Sister-in-law, Velma Davis of Oklahoma City, OK, numerous nieces and nephews, very special friends, Mo and Bill Graves. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Chester, Lewis, David, Burl, Andrew and George. 3 sisters, Virginia Suitor, Peggy Sparks, and Dorothy Woody. Services for O. E. “Ed” Fleming, Jr., 78, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Covenant Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Rev. Linda Snelling will officiate. The Committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Mr. Fleming died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at a local nursing home. He was born June 10, 1929 at Middleberg, Grady County, Oklahoma to Orville Edward and Daisy Mae Scott Fleming. He attended school at Amber and graduated from Amber High School as the Valedictorian of his senior class. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee for two years. He married JaNell Thompson in 1984. Mr. Fleming was a Right-of-Way Acquisition Agent with the State Department of Transportation until his retirement. He was a member of Covenant Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Fleming was a minister of music in Baptist and Nazarene churches in Oklahoma and Texas for over 25 years. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1950 until 1954 in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, JaNell Fleming, of the home; one daughter, Lynna Bond, Houston, Texas; one son, David E. Fleming, Cedar Creek, Texas; a step-daughter, Tonya Sanders, Sulphur; one sister, Nettie Hodges, Chickasha; one brother, Paul Fleming, Mesquite, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. The Family of Ivan McAdoo, 72, of Chickasha will hold a memorial service on Saturday, July 14, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at his home located at 1121 N. 11th, in Chickasha . Ivan Gene McAdoo was born July 2, 1935, in Oskaloosa , Iowa. He died July 4, 2007, at his home in Chickasha . Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
IVAN GENE MCADOO The family of Ivan McAdoo, 72, of Chickasha will hold a memorial service on Saturday, July 14, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at his home located at 1121 N. 11th, in Chickasha. Ivan Gene McAdoo was born July 2, 1935, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Hershel and Edith (Burns) McAdoo. He died July 4, 2007, at his home in Chickasha. Ivan grew up and attended schools in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He came to Oklahoma in 1975, moving to Chickasha in 1982. He had worked in the oil field, various construction jobs, and for Don Cumins Salvage. After an 8 year courtship, Ivan and Sandra (Johnson) McAdoo were married, on July 2, 1975, in Lancaster, Missouri. They were married for almost 30 years before she preceded him in death on March 22, 2004. Ivan enjoyed the outdoors, mechanic work, working on and tinkering with just about anything, spending time with his family and his coffee drinking buddies. Ivan was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; both parents; and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: David McAdoo, of Iowa, Kevin and Karen McAdoo, of Chickasha, and Ronald and Karla McAdoo, of Ninnekah; step-son and daughter-in-law: Nick and Ann Elsworth, of Chickasha; two step-daughters and son-in-law: Peggy and George Foster, of Noble, and Pam Foster, of Holdenville; four brothers; five sisters; fifteen grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
Victoria I. Schoenleber, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, died July 1, 2007. She was born December 5, 1949 to Ray and Louise Schoenleber of Bethany, Oklahoma. She graduated from Central State University with a teaching degree in English and History. “Vicky” retired from teaching after approximately 30 years of service. She is survived by her mother, Louise Schoenleber; brothers, Robert Schoenleber of Bethany; John and Marie Schoenleber; sister, Suzie Wilson of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by two nieces and two nephews along with numerous other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Ray Schoenleber and brother-in-law, Lyle Wilson. Graveside services for the family will be at the Meeker Cemetery.
Marlow: Albert Andrew Cook, 88, Marlow, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 in Oklahoma City. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with Richy Large officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma. Albert was born Thursday, February 19, 1920 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, to Alvin and Myrtle Cook. Albert attended school in Amber. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 120th Division as a tank destroyer. Albert married Imogene Clark on February 21, 1944 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Albert worked for the Chickasha Fire Department before being transferred to the airport and then to Dallas. He moved back to Chickasha and was the paint shop mechanic for Ralph and Sons Oldsmobile. Albert then worked for Halliburton in the tooling department, he retired in 1979. Albert enjoyed working in his garden, taking care of his yard and fishing. He loved doing things for people and got great joy out of taking something that was broken and repairing it. Albert was a member of the VFW and the DAV. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include, Wife, Imogene Cook of the home, Daughter, Carlotta Mauldin and husband Roger of Norman, OK, 3 Grandchildren, Kim Reed, Steven Mauldin, Danette Hinson, 4 Great-Grandchildren, Colin Reed, Jacob Mauldin, Matthew Mauldin, Daxton Hinson, Brother, Jessie Cook of Ardmore, OK, 2 Sisters, Reba Boxley of Chickasha, OK, Thelma Wright of Norman, OK, Several nieces and nephews. Rush Springs: Curtis Richardson, 78, Rush Springs, OK, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in Chickasha. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30AM, Friday, February 6, 2009, at the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Rush Springs, with Richy Large officiating. Curtis was born Friday, April 4, 1930 in Rush Springs, OK, to Elmer Richardson and Edith Allen Richardson. Curtis lived in the Rush Springs area all of his life. He attended school at Prairie Hill. Curtis married Nina B. Welch on December 2, 1975 in Marlow at the 5th Street Baptist Church. She preceded him in death in 2008. He enjoyed fishing and sitting on his front porch. Curtis liked visiting with people. Survivors include, Son, Bob Jones of Houston, TX, Sister, Fredia McCafferty of Duncan, OK, Several Great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by His parents, wife, brother, Allen Richardson, and sister, Gracie Bishop.
Rush Springs: Frances Mable Long, 86, Rush Springs, OK, passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 in Duncan. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 4, 2008, at the First Assembly of God in Rush Springs, with Rev. Quinton Newton and Rev. Elwayne Schaffer officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. Frances was born Tuesday, June 6, 1922 in Dickens, TX, to Michael Alexander Brumley and Effie Leoneodom. She attended Cement schools and graduated from Rush Springs High School. Frances lived in the Rush Springs area all of her life. She married William Elvin Long on December 26, 1946 in Wichita, KS. He preceded her in death in 1982. Frances enjoyed quilting, sewing, and babysitting, She loved her family and friends and enjoyed taking care of the elderly. Frances loved going to church and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Rush Springs, OK. Marlow: Troy Bob Howard, 73, Marlow, OK, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in Marlow. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 5, 2008, at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, OK, with Rev. Gene Jorgenson and Rev. Frank Barnes officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma. Troy was born Sunday, December 30, 1934 in Stephens County, to Herbert Howard and Nellie (Taylor) Howard. Troy attended school at Marlow and Duncan. He married Lora Dell McCall on August 15, 1953 in Comanche, Oklahoma. He was a self employed truck driver for over 50 years. He lived in Oklahoma City and Tuttle before moving to Marlow 5 1/2 years ago. Troy was a member of Gatlin Baptist Church. Graveside service for Charlie Holkum, age 85, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. Charles Kenneth Holkum was born the son of John Henry Holkum and Anna Missouri Hill Holkum on August 23, 1921 in Ada, Oklahoma. He died on April 20, 2007 in Chickasha. He married Quanah Gorham on July 2, 1943 in Chickasha. Charlie lived in Ada until the age of twelve when his family moved to Boswell in southern Oklahoma, near the Red River. At the age of fifteen, he moved to Colorado to work as a cowboy on several ranches in the southern Colorado area. He later moved to Arizona to continue his work as a cowboy. Charlie joined the United States Army and was stationed for a time at Ft. Sill. He served in Patton's Third Army in Europe during World War II and was involved in the invasion at Normandy. After his service, he worked in the oilfield. Charlie went to work for Tinker Air Force Base in 1948 as a heavy equipment operator and later as an aircraft maintenance manager retiring in 1973. After his retirement, he moved to Chickasha. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Missouri Holkum; four brothers, Bud, Jim, Dude, and Johnny; three sisters, Marietta, Bertha, and Estelle. Survivors include: wife Quanah Holkum of Chickasha, daughter Pam Zamora of Oklahoma City, son Johnny Lee Holkum of Oklahoma City, three grandchildren Ches and Kenny Cowell, Hannah Holkum, three great grandchildren Reece, Gavin, and Abigail Cowell. Graveside Services for William D. Holder, age 71 of Chickasha, will be held 3:30pm Tuesday, December 30th, 2008 at Fairlawn Cemetery. William D. Holder was born April 1st, 1937 in Tabler, Oklahoma. He was the son of John Holder and Lottie Hill. William died December 26th, 2008, in Chickasha. He lived in Chickasha most of his life and worked as a welder and in the horse trailer industry and also did paint and body works. He retired in 1994. He served in the USMC. He was preceded in death by: His Parents. Survivors include: 2 sons, William Holder, Jr., Justin Holder, 6 daughters, Darlene Spry, Carol Jones, Charlene Haycox, Teresa Holder, Betty Holder, Barbara Holder. 4 sisters, Katherine Henry, Vera Mae Henry, Helen Briggs, Kay Smith. 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
