Evelyn Dolores Adams
Graveside services for Evelyn Dolores Adams, 81, of Wichita Falls,
Texas, formerly of Rush Springs, Okla., will be held at 1:30 p.m. on
Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Rush Springs Cemetery. Rev. Elmer
Whitehead will officiate.
Evelyn Dolores Adams was born July 4, 1920, in Lincoln County,
Okla., and died on Monday, June 10, 2002, at Texoma Christian Care
Center, Wichita Falls.
Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in
Rush Springs.

MRS. C. E. ALLISON RITES ARE HELD
Rush Springs, Nov. 28 - Funeral services for Mrs. C. E. Allison, 76,
were conducted Sunday Afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Missionary
Baptist church, Rev. Barry Garrett, pastor, conducted the services.
Active pallbearers were Warren Gilbreath, N. Mosley, Babes Gilbreath,
Verdie Morris, Bill Henderson and Mr. Gilbert.
Honorary pallbearers were John Coyle, Neal Williams, Vel Cloud and
T. K. Miller.
Mrs. Allison was born Dec. 4, 1868, at Fulton Mo., and died Nov. 23
in a Duncan hospital. (She was a daughter of B. F. Mosley)
She joined the church at an early age, and was a member of the
Missionary Baptist church at the time of her death.
She married W. W. Glibreath, deceased, in 1890 and they made Rush
Springs their home. She lived in the vicinity over 60 years. She was
married to C. E. Allison Dec. 1, 1938, and they have made their home
in Rush Springs.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, Frank Gilbreath, Idaho,
Henry of Rush Springs, and Jesse of California; four step-sons and
two step-daughters, one half-brother, Ben Mosley of Pauls Valley,
and one half-sister from Norman.

Aleta Ruth "Pendley" Anderson
Funeral serves for Aleta Ruth Pendley Anderson were held at 10 am
Monday, July 14, 2003 at the Trinity Baptist Church in El Reno, with
interment in the Rush Springs Cemetery.
Officiating were Cliff Johnson and the music was presented by
Candace Hensley and Earl Boyer. Services were conducted under the
direction of Wilson Funeral Home, El Reno.
Mrs. Anderson was born 21 Mar 1936, on the family farm at Rush
Springs, and died Thursday, 10 July 2003 at her home in El Reno,
following an extended battle with cancer.
She was married to Adrian Anderson on 29 Nov 1957 in Rush Springs
and moved to El Reno in 1964. She was employed with Kelso's
Department Store in the late 1960s, and with the Al Mays Tag Agency
from 1970 to 1973. She was Canadian County Farm Bureau Secretary
from 1973 to 1984. She later worked with her husband in the auction
business prior to her appointment by the Oklahoma State Senate as
Motor License Agent in El Reno which she continued to her death.
She was a member of the Amity Baptist Church, and prior to that she
was a long time member of the Trinity Baptist Church which she
dearly loved along with her many friends there.
Survivors include her husband, Adrian, of the home; a daughter
Alaina Kay Ungerecht and husband John of Oklahoma City, and a son,
Alan Jay Anderson and wife Margot of Plano, Texas. Her
grandchildren, Erin Elane and Andrew Christian Ungerecht, and Alexis
Vivian and Abigail Rae Anderson.
Also, her sister, Leatrice Pendley Sluder of Blanchard, her brother,
Doyle Pendley and wife Dorothy of Rush Springs, sister-in-law, Betty
Joe Anderson Murphy and husband Bedford of Healdton, many nephews,
nieces and a host of loving friends, special among them were Susie
Gallaway and Sue Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her parents James M and Vivian Tunnel
Pendley of Rush Springs, her brother-in-law Vernon Sluder, and her
very close friend Peggy Abner.
Pallbearers were Harold Hale, Mark Galloway, Davie Abner, L Van
Perkins, Art Snyder, and Gid Tinsley.

Thelma Irene Armstrong
Funeral services for Thelma Irene Armstrong were held March 31 at
First Baptist Church in Union City with Rev. Eric Stock officiating.
Burial was in the Hazel Dell Cemetery northwest of Minco. Services
were under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Armstrong died March 27 at Kindred Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She was born Dec. 13, 1921, in Covington. In 1953 she moved from
Lawton to Union City. She was a Gold Star Mother and member of First
Baptist Church in Union City and El Reno VFW Auxiliary Post 382.
She is survived by a son, Dean Armstrong of Union City; daughters,
Hazel of Oklahoma City, Velta Taylor of Edmond, Mary Lou of Minco,
Barbara Kennedy, Pam Bradley and Karla Payne, all of El Reno; a
brother, James Hedrick of Wichita, Kan.; a twin sister, Velma
Garrett of Lawton, and sisters, Ruby Slimp of El Reno and Ruth Bybee
of Corn; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four
great-great-grandchildren.

Cecil Charlton
1928 - 2008
He was the son of Corbit Ray and Ruby Mae (Garrett) Charlton. He was
raised in the Minco and Cogar communities and married Nellie Louise
Jones on Aug. 30, 1950 in Clovis, N. M. He served in the United
States Army during the Korean War and worked as a welding and pipe
inspector for a natural gas company. He retired in 1981 after 32
years. He lived in Joliet, Illinois for many years and moved back
after his retirement in 1981. After his retirement, he worked for
himself as a welder, farm hand and heavy equipment operator. He was
preceded in death by his parents Corbin and Ruby Charlton, wife
Nellie on Nov. 3, 2007, and a brother-in-law Enis Anthony. Services
were held on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in
Union City. Rev. Eric Stock of the First Baptist Church in Union
City officiated, with burial in the Hazel Dell Cemetery northwest of
Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Nellie Louise Charlton

Funeral services for Nellie Louise Charlton of the Minco-Cogar area
were held today at Minco Church of Christ with Jim Ross officiating.
Burial was in the Hazel Dell Cemetery under direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Charlton died Sunday at her home. She was born Oct. 11, 1929,
in Quail, Texas, and graduated from Quail High School. She moved to
the Minco-Cogar area in 1981. She
was a homemaker and member of Quail Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil of the home; a daughter, Elene
Charlton of Cogar; sons, Cecil Charlton of Cogar, Paul Charlton of
El Reno and Rufus Charlton of Dwight, 111.; brother, C.H. Jones of
Malakoff, Texas; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Virginia Faith Charlton
Funeral services for Virginia Faith Charlton of Minco will be held
at 2 p.m. Monday at Assembly of God Church in Minco with Jim Ross
and Josh Russell officiating. Burial will be in the Hazel Dell
Cemetery under direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Charlton died May 27 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma
City. She was born Oct. 9, 1927, in Gracemont. She was raised in
Gracemont and graduated from Gracemont High School in 1945. She was
a farm wife and homemaker and member of Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her husband, Walter of the home; sons, Jim
Charlton of Norman and Don Charlton of Anadarko; daughters, Sue
Johnson and Judy Mitchell, both of Minco; brothers, Mallie Elrod of
Grand Prairie, Texas, Weldon Elrod and Randy Elrod, both of Clovis,
Calif.; sister, Sethena Murphy of Chowchilla, Calif.; 15
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Johnny Logan Gorham

Funeral services for Johnny Logan Gorham of Minco will be held at 2
p.m. Friday at Hazel Dell Baptist Church northwest of Minco with
Rev. Eddie Critchfield of Southern Heights Baptist Church in El Reno
officiating. Burial will be in the Hazel Dell Cemetery under
direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mr. Gorham died Monday at his home. He was born Oct. 24, 1930, in
rural Minco. He was reared in Minco and graduated from Minco High
School. He worked for Opitz Gin and Elevator in Binger as a truck
driver for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife, Melva of the home; sons, Fred Allen of
Union City and Doug Allen of McCloud; a daughter, Tami Jones of
Stillwater; two brothers; sisters, June Bartlett of Hinton and
Quanah Holkum of Chickasha; nine grandchildren and one
great-grandson.

Daryl Edward Mitchell

Funeral services for Daryl Edward Mitchell of Minco were held
Tuesday at Minco Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wes Warren
officiating. Burial was in Hazel Dell Cemetery under direction of
Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mr. Mitchell died Friday in Minco. He was born April 2, 1959, in
Meridian, Texas, and was reared in Glen Rose, Texas. He came to
Minco in 1995. He worked as a project manager for AAR aircraft
mechanics firm in Oklahoma City and attended Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; sons, Joshua Russell
of Springfield, Mo., Drew Russell of El Reno and Joseph Mitchell of
the home; daughters, Amber Tanmongkolswat of Oklahoma City,
Elizabeth Mitchell and Brandi Mitchell, both of the home; his
father, Glen Mitchell of Glen Rose; his mother and stepfather,
Paulene and Kenneth Price of Granbury, Texas; a brother, Terry
Mitchell of Granbury; a sister, Rhonda Rodriguez of Sherman, Texas;
and six grandchildren.

Daryl Edward Mitchell, 46, of Minco, Okla. died Thursday, Jan. 12,
2006 in Minco, Okla. He was the son of Paulene Price and brother of
Terry Mitchell, both of Granbury.
Funeral services are today (Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006) at 10 a.m. at
the Minco Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in the Hazel Dell
Cemetery near Minco.
He was born April 2, 1959 in Meridian to Glen and Paulene Gabrielson
Mitchell. He was a graduate of Glen Rose High School. He married
Judy Charlton Russell Jan. 27, 1995 at Conway, Ark.
He was employed in an aircraft mechanics firm at Oklahoma City,
Okla.
Other survivors are his father, Glen Mitchell of Glen Rose; mother
and stepfather, Paulene and Kenneth Price of Granbury; wife, Judy
Mitchell of Minco, Okla.; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Pam
Mitchell of Granbury; three daughters and a son-in-law; another
brother and sister-in-law; and six grandchildren.

Emmett Ira Pate
Emmett Ira Pate was called into his Father's loving Arms, May 3,
2009 at the Odyssey House in OKC. Emmett was born February 10, 1927
to Walter K. & Anna Irene (Carmer) Pate in Excelsior Springs,
Missouri. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and a very talented
musician. Emmett married the love of his life, Edna, on May 20,
1950. He was preceded in death by his parents a sister, Sarah three
brothers, Chester, Galen & O Ray a son-in-law, Johnny W. Brown and
two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Edna of the home two
daughters, Linda Brown of McLoud, OK, Nancy Charlton & son-in-law,
Conn of Minco, OK two sisters, Evalina Rash and twin sister, Emma
Eckert 10 grandchildren 14 great grand- children 9 great great
grandchildren many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be
held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 7, 2009, at the Bill Merritt
Chapel with Pastor Eric Stock officiating. Interment will follow at
Hazel Dell Cemetery, Minco, OK.

Myrtle Elizabeth
"Foote" Peavler
Myrtle Elizabeth Foote Peavler died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008.
Graveside service: 1 p.m. Monday in Hazel Dell Cemetery, Minco,
Okla., under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.
Myrtle Elizabeth Foote Peavler was born May 1, 1918, in Durant,
Okla. After graduating from Holdenville High School, she attended
Oklahoma A&M. While there, she met her husband, Floyd Peavler. They
were married Nov. 29, 1939. They lived in Fort Worth for 50 years
where they raised their family. Myrtle was loved by all who knew her
and will be greatly missed. Family members would like to express
their thanks and appreciation to the caregivers who helped her these
last few months.
Survivors: Children, Gary and wife, Janet Peavler, Carol Jean and
husband, Patrick Brown; four grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.

Lois Dean Roach

Funeral services for Lois Dean Roach of Minco were held Friday at
First Baptist Church of Minco with Rev. Steve Shellhammer
officiating. Burial was in the Hazel Dell Cemetery under direction
of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roach died Tuesday at her home. She was born Dec. 13, 1938, in
Minco and lived in the community her entire life. She was a
homemaker and member of Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her husband, J. Roach of the home; a daughter,
Janie Osborn of Minco; brothers, Jack Putman of Minco, Willard Oaks
of Union City and Dewayne Oaks of Verden; a sister, Eleanor Barber
of Eufaula; and four granddaughters.

Patricia Jean Arnold

Springs, who

Travis Wayne "Bud" Arnold was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Bromide,
Okla., and
died on Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at his home in Rush Springs.

GEORGIE ANN [RIGGS] AUTRY
Funeral service for Georgie Ann Autry, 99, of Marlow, will be at

a.m., Friday, July 25, 2003, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, Rush
Springs, Oklahoma, with John Kerr Officiating.
Georgie Ann Autry was born August 5, 1903, at Glenrose, Texas, to
Hugh
Woodford Riggs and Martha Josephine (Latham) Riggs, and died
Wednesday,
July 23, 2003, at the Gregston Nursing Home in Marlow.
She married John Egbert Autry on October 9, 1919, in Chickasha. He
preceded her in death on August 28, 1966.
When Georgie was five years old, she traveled to Rush Springs in a
wagon
train and settled in the community, south of town. She was a
homemaker
and a farmer. Georgie attended the First Assembly of God Church in
Rush
Springs.
She is preceded in death by parents, husband and daughter, Laverne
Ragsdale.
Survivors include: grandson: Joe Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK; 4
granddaughters: Linda Wilkerson of Oklahoma City, OK, Judy McDonald
of
Tuttle, OK, Julie Williamson of Duncan, OK, and Janet Durbin of
Oklahoma
City, OK; nephew: Billie White of Duncan, OK.
Pallbearers: Joe Thomas, Gary Williamson, Tom McDonald and George
Lurry.
Interment will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction

Thursday, March 23, 2006, in his home.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist
Church, Marlow, with the Rev. Terry Koehn officiating. Burial will
be in Rush Springs Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb
Chapel in Rush Springs.
Bearers will be Kelsey Avants, Larry Avants, Stewart Avants, Tyler
Harris, Charles Nurse, Keith Vandelist, Chris Prier, Michael
Gonzalez, Paul Mahoney and Heath Michael Avants Spence.

Olan A. Bailey OLAN
A. BAILEY VICTIM WED. NIGHT OF TYPHOID
Olan A. Bailey, 32, died Wednesday night at his home here following
a month's siege of typhoid fever. Funeral service is being held this
afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Rush Springs cemetery, where interment
is being made. Rev. J. W. Newman, pastor of the Methodist church,
conducting it. Callaway & Mullican have charge of arrangements.
Olan A. Bailey was born July 11, 1900 at Gorman, Texas. He moved to
Rush Springs with his parents 24 years ago, and spent the rest of
his life here. He was united in marriage September 8, 1928, with
Miss Golden Marsh, and to this union was born one son, who survive
to mourn his death.
He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bailey, one sister,
Mrs. Lera Gibbons, other relatives and many friends."

"Funeral Services for John Baker Were Held Here Sunday.
Funeral services for John H. Baker, 90, were held Sunday, August 8th
at 2:30 p.m. from the Church of Christ in Rush Springs with Raymond
Murray officiating.
Baker was born May 26, 1881 in McClelan County, Texas and died
Thursday, August 5th, at 11:55 p.m. at his home following a heart
attack. He was married to Martha Leverett on December 4, 1904 in
Montague County, Texas, and had lived in Rush Springs for 59 years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Church of Christ.
Burial was in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of the
Callaway-Smith Funeral Home.
Bearers were C.C. Jinks Burnes Burns, Jim Leu, Glen Jones, M.L. Todd
and Raymond Gibbs.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Baker of the home; one daughter,
Mrs. Margie Cloud of Rush Springs; one granddaughter, Mrs. Maxine
Barrington of Rush Springs; 3 grandsons, Randle Cloud of Norman,
Gary Cloud of Rush Springs and Douglas Cloud of Lawrence, Kansas and
five great grandchildren."

72, of Oklahoma City, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006, in
Oklahoma City.

Cemetery. Burial will be under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb

Ruby Juanita Beard
RUBY JUANITA BEARD, 79, of Rush Springs, passed away Saturday, June
23, 2007, in Chickasha.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Rush Springs
Cemetery, with Rev. Elmer Whitehead and Drew Beard officiating.
Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral
Chapel in Rush Springs.
Ruby was born November 28, 1927 in Chickasha, to William Calvin and
Amy Elizabeth Martin Randolph. She graduated high school from Acme.
She lived in Rush Springs most of her life.
Ruby married Ralph Finley Beard on May 29, 1945 in Chickasha. He
preceded her in death on June 28, 1984.
Ruby enjoyed shopping, going to Sonic, and collecting Hot Wheels.
Her expertise was cooking, and she provided her grandchildren with
her famous no-bake cookies. She liked to go bowling and dancing.
Ruby was an active member of the Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Lionel Beard of Sulphur, Terry Beard
and wife Kathy, and Ralph Beard and wife Mayme, all of Rush Springs;
a daughter, Renee Jones and husband Steve of Rush Springs; 12
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two
granddaughters, Holly Kalyn Beard and Jennie Marie Beard; and four
sisters, Opal Meade, Dorothy Davidson, Wanda Adams, and Mildred Ivy.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kyle Jones, Jerome Jones, Tim
Beard, Blake Beard, Jeremy Beard, Country Beard and Drew Beard.
