Waurika, Okla.., July 31 – The accidental discharge of a Winchester rifle caused the death of Frank Patterson of this city last night.

Mrs. S. M. Murphree, Harry Bedford and Walker Hargrove, all of Bowie, Texas, were in an upstairs room at the Boyer house awaiting a train to go home and, in gathering up their goods and traveling grips to go to the train, a Winchester was accidentally discharged by one of the party, the bullet passing through the floor and ceiling of the lower story and took effect in Frank Patterson, an employee of the hotel, who was at work below. Patterson died three hours later. He formerly lived at Fort Smith, Ark.
