Mildred E. Bowles
Funeral services for Mildred E. Bowles, 88, of Kingston, Okla., formerly of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha.
Mildred E. Bowles was born April 22, 1916, and died on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, Okla., under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Joe Day

SUNRAY - Joe Day, 71, died Monday, March 31, 1997.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sunray Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Hilton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Mr. Day was born in Madill, Okla., and had been a Moore County resident since 1957. He was an automotive mechanic and a veteran of the Army and Navy. He was a member of Sunray Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a past post commander of the Dumas Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1475.
He married Mary Wilson in 1945 at Sulphur, Okla.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Kay Day, in 1953.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe L. Day of Amarillo and Richard Day of Sunray; two daughters, Stella Louise Tronnes of Crookston, Minn., and Sharon Britton of Sunray; a brother, James E. Day of Sulphur; a sister, Lena Mae Sanders of Elgin, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 303 Avenue N.

Robert J. Hicks
FORMER CHICKASHA POLICE CHIEF DIES
A former Chickasha Chief of Police has died.
Robert James "Bob" Hicks served as the Chickasha Police Department's chief twice - from 1984 to 1989, and again from 1996 to 2001. He died Wednesday, July 7, at a hospital in Dennison, Texas, at the age of 62.
Hicks was born in Beardstown, Ill., on Sept. 16, 1941, to the late James and Lena Hicks. Upon the death of his parents, the young Hicks came to Rush Springs to live with his aunt and uncle, the now late Sylvia and Roy Briley, who reared him.
He served in the U.S. Army, and then went to work for the Oklahoma City Police Department. After retiring from that department in 1983, he served as chief for the El Reno and Chickasha departments. Hicks was director of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation from 1989 to 1995. In 1989, he married Judy Dunham in Oklahoma City. Following his retirement from Chickasha in 2001, he moved to Kingston, and has been the Madill Chief of Police for the past year and a half.
Hicks is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home in Kingston, along with two stepdaughters, Julie Davis, of Kingston, and Shelley Bailey and her husband, David, of Edmond. He is also survived by a brother, Jack Hicks, a half-brother, Raymond Lambert, and a half-sister, Linda Warren.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. in Saturday, July 10, at Guardian West Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Arrangements are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home of Madill.

Robert J. Hicks
Robert James (Bob) Hicks, 62, of Kingston, Oklahoma, died on Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at the hospital in Dennison, Texas. He was born September 16, 1941, in Beardstown, Illinois, to the late James and Lena Gladwell Hicks. Bob was reared in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and later served in the United States Army before moving to Oklahoma City. Bob served in law enforcement his entire life and on January 1983 he retired from Oklahoma City police department as a captain; he served as Chief of Police in El Reno and Chickasha from 1984 to 1989.
From 1989 to 1995 he served as the director of the OSBI, then moved back to Chickasha, serving as chief in 1996. In 2001 Bob moved to Kingston and has served as chief of police in Madill for the last year and a half. He attended the New Beginnings Church in Madill.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hicks, Kingston, OK; two stepdaughters, Julie Davis, Kingston, OK, and Shelley and David Bailey, Edmond, OK; brother, Jack Hicks, Metropolis, IL; half-brother, Raymond Lambert, Monmouth, IL; half-sister, Linda Warren, Stanwood, IA.
Bob was raised by his aunt and uncle, Sylvia and Roy Briley of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and they both preceded him in death.

Vivian Elizabeth Howard
Vivian Elizabeth Howard, 94, Calera, passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at her residence in Calera. She was born Nov. 11, 1910, in Woodville to the late Will and Laura McCuan French. She was raised in Woodville, and in 1941, she moved to Calera, where she lived the rest of her life. Vivian married Bryan Howard Sept. 19, 1929, in Marietta. He preceded her in death March 8, 1991. Vivian was a member of the Calera Church of Christ.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Cathryn Howard, four brothers, George, Dean, Roland and Noland French, and two sisters, Clarice Van and Bennie Hawkins.
She is survived by son Bill Howard, Fort Worth, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law Jennie Lynn McGee, Albany, Joy and Bill Vaden, Calera, Laura Jane Snow, Hendrix, Merry Bryan and Jon Heindselman, Calera, and Carolyn and George Tarr, McAlester; 11 grandchildren, Pam and Jim Parrish, Calera, Liz and Jerry Jones, Durant, Karen Hughes, Calera, Joe and Carol McGee, Albany, Jim and Sherrie McGee, Bokchito, Gred Haddock, Fort Worth, Mark and Julie Heindselman, New Jersey, Bryan Heindselman, Edmond, Kristi and Gary Harris, Fort Worth, Brent and Tiffany Tarr, Irving, Texas, and Karra and Jack Hodge, Muskogee; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother William French, Hutchinson, Kan.; and sisters Aline Dillow, Kingston, and Trevelyn McElheny, Kingston.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Watts Funeral Home, Kingston. David Dillow will officiate. Music will be arranged by Lindsey French. Interment will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery, Calera, will casket bearers Joe McGee, Jim McGee, Bryan Heindselman, Greg Haddock, Brent Tarr, Jason Simpson, Jeff Hughes and Tip E. Jones II. Wanda Louise Jones

Graveside services will be held Greenlawn Southwest Memorial park, 2739 Panama Ln., Tuesday, October 26 at 2:30 p.m. for Wanda Louise Jones, 63, who passed away October 20, 2004 in a local hospital. Rev. Robert Proctor and Rev. Wayne Proctor will officiate.
Wanda was born November 16, 1940 in Simpson, Oklahoma and resided in Kern County for 46 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and will be dearly missed. Wanda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Dwight F Jones, Sr. She is survived by her son, Dwight F. Jones, Jr.; daughter Renee Garis both of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Zackary Whaley, Jessica Garis and Stephen Garis; great granddaughter, Kylee Whaley; brothers, Henry W. Brown of Cedar Grove, Tennessee and Harold G. Brown of Bakersfield; sister, Kay Hill of Tulare; father-in-law, Hurber Jones of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin Monday, October 25 at noon.

William Robert Massey
William Robert, (Bob) died Monday, July 8, 2002, in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Robert Milton and Anna Mae Massey, and was born October 7, 1923, in Kingston, Oklahoma. He attended grade school and high school in Kingston. He served with the 106th Infantry Division in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge. Following the war, he attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a degree in business administration. While at OU he signed up for advanced ROTC. He became interested in the military as a career. Upon graduation he applied for and received a direct commission in the Regular Army 2nd Lieutenant, Field Artillery. Because of a bout with polio he was retired from active duty 31 May 1950. He worked 29 years for the State of Oklahoma in the School Land Commission. He served as Secretary to the Commissioners of the Land Office from 1975 until his retirement in 1986. Bob was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, the former Wilma Jean Ward. They were married in 1951. Survivors also include many loving cousins. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the Smith & Kernke Chapel, 14624 N. May, Oklahoma City, with graveside services at 3:00 PM, at the Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, OK. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in memoriam to Epworth Villa Benevolent Fund, 14901 N. Paul D. McGee

1934 - 2008
Greenlawn Southwest --- Paul D. McGee was born April 11, 1934 in Madill, OK, and passed away December 4, 2008. After serving in the Army he went to work for Valley Office Supply which later became Stationers and then Eastmon for 30 years. He then went to work for Western Industrial Laundry in purchasing until he retired in 1999. Paul was a quiet man, good listener and rarely offered an opinion unless asked. Therefore he had many friends. Paul is survived by his wife, Sue of 54 years; son, Mark and Dennis and his wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Christy, Nicole, Paul and Richard. Also seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Gemcare for all their help and support. Also Optimal Hospice Care. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary, with Funeral Services being held on Monday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m., also at Greenlawn Southwest.

John Talley Neasbitt
BORGER - John Talley "J.T." Neasbitt, 72, died Sunday, March 21, 1999.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home Chapel in Durant, Okla., with Mr. Ray Mayhue officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Silo, Okla., by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.
A Borger resident for 47 years, Mr. Neasbitt was a native of Marshall County, Okla. During World War II, he served in the Army in the European theater. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a truck driver for Phillips Petroleum Co.
He married Hilda James in 1950 at Durant.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randy Neasbitt of Jermyn and Mike Neasbitt of The Colony; two daughters, Sherry Kellogg of Fritch and Twila Washer of Borger; a brother, James Neasbitt of Borger; two sisters, Goldie Campbell of Durant and Jessie Neasbitt of Antlers, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 6:30 until 8 p.m. today in Brown's Chapel of the Fountains.

Dovie Swinney Phillips
WALTERS - Service for Dovie Swinney Phillips, 78, of Waurika will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel in Walters. The Rev. Cheryl Benson will officiate. Burial will be in Devol Cemetery in Devol.
Dovie (Pilgrim) Swinney Phillips was born to James Monroe and Clifford (Lollis) Pilgrim on Oct. 27, 1923 in Madill. She departed this life on April 11, 2002, in Duncan at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 14 days.
Dovie grew up in Madill where she eventually married Edward Williamson Swinney on Oct. 5, 1940. In 1942, they moved to Cotton County, living in the Randlett and Devol area. He preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1964. On July 5, 1967, she married Roy Paul Phillips, and they made their home in Waurika for many years. He preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded by a brother, Sid Pack; two sisters, Burnice Savage and Lela Hambrick; as well as her daughter, Letha Joan Looney; and two infant grandchildren, Pamela Creed and Teddy Ray Looney.
Through the years Dovie worked as a homemaker and helped on the farm and then later worked for Dean's Drapery Company. She also worked for Burns Security at the Tosco Refinery. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Randlett and enjoyed fishing, working in her flower beds, embroidery and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include five daughters, Betty Jean Looney and her husband, Chester, Biddy Jane Looney and her husband, Lester, Barbara Louise Creed and Judy Fay Burleson and her husband, Randy, all of Randlett, and Karen Gail McNair and her husband, Tommy, of Duncan; two brothers, Olden Pilgrim of Duncan and Alton Pilgrim of Texas; a sister, Oniva Hambrick of Ardmore; 20 grandchildren;25 great-grandchildren

Johnny Fleetwood Pierson
Johnny Fleetwood Pierson, 68, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, June 18, 1999, in Kingston, Okla.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 I-40 East. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Pierson was born in Amarillo and was the owner/operator of Johnny Pierson Used Cars for over 40 years. He served with the Navy during World War II, with the Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the Hereford Veterans of Foreign Wars. He moved to Lake Texhoma in 1990. He married Barbara Galusha in 1969 at Hereford.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, John F. Pierson III of Texarkana, Ark., Curt Law of Livingston, Terry Law of Charleston, Ark., and Michael Harrison of Brooks Air Force Base; five daughters, Susie Adamson of Edmond, Okla., Connie Muise of Colorado Springs, Colo., Louetta Shenefield of Altus, Okla., and Darlene Thompson and Debbie Harrison, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Harold Pierson of Amarillo and Cecil Pierson of Abilene; a sister, Willie Pitcock of Clovis, N. Arnold Gene Robinson
MARLOW - Services for Arnold Gene Robinson, 72, of Marlow, who died Saturday, April 13, 2002, will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. G.W. Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery near Madill under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.
Mr. Robinson was born April 15, 1929, in Madill to George and Eva (Glass) Robinson. He married Myrtle (Cook) Robinson in 1975 in Orange, Calif. A graduate of Madill High School and a construction contractor, Mr. Robinson lived in Madill for 19 years, was formerly of Orange, Calif., and was a Marlow resident for six years.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Schillings and Cheryl Robinson, both of Washington; two step-sons, Art Combs and Russell Combs, both of California; two brothers, Ronnie Robinson of Long Beach, Calif., and Don Robinson of Fort Worth; four sisters, Joyce Henson of Oklahoma City, Norma Cary of Oklahoma City, Marcell Carver of Anaheim, Calif., and Jeannette Flock of Covina, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild

Henry Robinson
Madill, I. T., Jan 5—Henry Robinson, about 25 years old, an employee of the Madill Oil and Cotton Company here, was instantly killed Wednesday afternoon by becoming entangled with some of the machinery. Deceased came from Jacksboro to this place and he has a brother in Fort Worth. Nothing further is known of his relations.

Glenda D. Rogers
Services for Glenda D. Rogers, 57, Kingston, who died at TMC in Denison, Texas, Sunday, October 10, 2004, will be held at Victory Life Church in Durant, Saturday, October 16, 2004, at 10 a.m. Lee Armstrong will officiate.
Glenda was born on September 7, 1947, in Dickson, Tenn., to Author and Mary Lorene (Baggett) Choate. She came to the Durant area from Clarksville, Tenn. Glenda was married to William Rogers on April 10, 1970, in Clarksville. She was a homemaker and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Author Choate; and a sister Inamai Choate.
Glenda is survived by her husband Bill Rogers of Kingston; son Ronnie Rogers of Durant; son Wayne Rogers of Kingston; daughter Beth Rogers of Durant; mother Mary Burkett of Clarksville, Tenn.; sisters Lois Hargis, Mattie Barrs, Judy Smith and Mary Montoya all of Clarksville, Tenn.; brother Keith Choate of Clarksville; grandchildren Krystel Rogers, Eric Rogers, Christian Rogers, Nicholas Rogers, Jacob Rogers, and a baby girl on the way; and a host of friends.
Burial will be in Knob Hill Cemetery with the Warriors of the Word Bike Ministry serving as pallbearers.
Family hour will be October 15, 2004 at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.

Don Stanley
Funeral services for Don Stanley will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Don Stanley was born July 28, 1922, in Madill, OK. He went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2002, at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife, Ethal L. Stanley; three sons, Don and his wife, Donna, Carl and wife, Phyllis, and James and wife, Stella; one sister, Lela Mae and husband, Marvin L. Barnes' one sister-in-law, Weetona Stanley; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He will be re-united in heaven with his parents, Alonzo F. and Lela Ann Stanley, sister, Anna Lee, and brother, Alonzo F. (Sonny) Stanley, Jr., and a host of friends and relatives. Don graduated from Tishomingo High School where he excelled in football and track. He went to San Diego, CA to work in the shipyards and while there he met Ethal J. Johnson. They were married on January 27, 1943. He served in the US Marine Corp during WWII and participated in the Battle of Guadalcanal. After his discharge, he begin his career of service as an aircraft mechanic at Tinker Field. He later transferred to the FAA at Will Rogers, retiring in 1978 to devote himself to his passion for breeding, training and racing quarterhorses.

Milton E. Thorne

WALTERS - Funeral for Milton E. Thorne, 74, Walters, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, with the Rev. Bob Copeland officiating. Mr. Thorne died Sunday, April 21, 2002, in Lawton.
He was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Willis to Ernest and Pruda Dunn Thorne. He attended Walters Public Schools and after he graduated in 1946, he joined the Air Force, serving six years. He married Elizabeth Barbara Hibler in Erding, Germany, on Feb. 19, 1953. After the Air Force, he was employed by civil service at Sheppard Field Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas; at Fort Sill; and at Fort Rucker, Ala. He retired at Fort Knox, Ky., in 1985. He returned to Walters in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a brother: Ralph Thorne, Walters; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Milwood; and three brothers: William, Donald and Max Thorne.

Sue Turner
Sue Turner, 66, of Amarillo, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999.

Mrs. Turner moved to Amarillo from Madill, Okla. in 1938 and was a cook for Meads Bakery for several years. She was a Baptist. Survivors include two sons, Wayne Kelly of Fritch and Raymond Barron of Houston; a daughter, Arlinda McFarlane of Frisco; two brothers, Johnny Forguson and Clarence Forguson, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Edith Danly and Esther Gammage, both of Amarillo and Viva Walker of O**** City; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Wanda Louise Tuttle
Wanda Tuttle, 75, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 5, 1999.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Amarillo Botanical Gardens. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth.
Mrs. Tuttle was born in Madill, Okla., and was a longtime Amarillo resident. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1941. She was a philanthropist and a member of the Amarillo Botanical Gardens, Amarillo Senior Citizens and Golden Kiwanis.
Survivors include two daughters, Addie Lee of Amarillo and Val Adams of Conroe; a sister, Dorothy DeGray of Mission Viejo, Calif.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Roberta Walker
HEREFORD - Roberta Walker, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999.
Private services are planned. Cremation and arrangements are by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.
Mrs. Walker was born in Robinson, Okla. She lived in Muleshoe for 12 years, then moved to Friona and moved to Hereford three years ago. She was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church of Hereford. She married Jack Edward Walker in 1928 at Vian, Okla. He died in 1993. Survivors include a son, Gene Walker of Hereford; three daughters, Frances Jennings of Muleshoe, Betty Robinson of Hereford and Jackie Walker of Dallas; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Lois Wear
ODESSA - Lois Wear, age 84 of Andrews, passed away Thursday January 22, 2004 at Hospice House in Odessa. She was born October 6, 1919 in Madill, Oklahoma to Silas James Warnick and Ida Bell Husky Warnick.
Lois married Thomas Presley Wear in Ramonville, Texas, on January 18, 1941. He preceded her in death June 11, 1965. She was Baptist and had been a resident of Andrews since 1985. Lois retired from the City of Odessa, where she was employed for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Evelyn Lois Wear, two brothers; P.W. Warnick and Joe B. Warnick, and one sister; Aline Kilgore.
Surviving her are her nephew Richard Warnick and his wife Nora of Andrews, and one niece Jo Ann Branch also of Andrews.
Graveside services will be held Monday January 26, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Kermit Cemetery with Chaplain Don Swindell officiating.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cooper Funeral Chapel of Kermit.

Leon Derron Stowers

Leon Derron Stowers, 77, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Hospital in Ardmore. He was born to the late Loyd Monroe Stowers and Oleta Bernice Jarman Stowers on November 4, 1933. Derron attended Tyler Elementary School before moving to California at the age of 8. He also lived in Oregon before moving to Monahans, Texas where he graduated in 1951. He attended Odessa Jr. College and classes at Eastern New Mexico University. He married Ruth Ann Maddin on December 22, 1956.He later married Guy Eva Hallmark on November 10, 1994. He served fifteen years in the National Guard and was honorably discharged. Derron later worked in the oil fields at Lovington, New Mexico and Monahans. He later became lineman and foreman for Lee County Electric at Lovington. In 1972 he moved to Cloudcroft, New Mexico and was supervisor and later operation manager until 1999 when he retired and moved to Madill, Oklahoma. He was proud of his Choctaw Indian heritage and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and he was an active member at the Mannsville Assembly of God Church, Mannsville, Ok.

Sister: Ethel Caudill and husband L. G., Lovington, New Mexico
2 Grandchildren: Afton Dodgen and Brandon, Tupelo, Oklahoma
Hannah Stowers, Tupelo, Oklahoma
1 Great Grandchild: Aslan Dodgen
Step son: Kent Hallmark and wife Pam, Madill, Oklahoma
3 step Grandchildren: Courtney Housholder and husband, Josh, Madill, Oklahoma
Tracy Vanderwork and husband, Lee, Woodward, Oklahoma
Jason Branch and wife Kendra, Lone Grove, Oklahoma
2 Foster Children: Angela King and husband Larry, Dickson, Oklahoma
Sharon Giles, Madill, Oklahoma
10 Foster Grandchildren: Tyler, Josh, Jake, Talaya, Colton, Jade, Brooke, Luke, Lexie and Tate.
2 Nieces: Sandy and James Fort, Madill, Oklahoma
Lesly and Kent Jameson, Lovington, New Mexico.
And their children: Kenda and Kellen Fort, and Bradley, Jesika and Jacob Jameson.

Friday December 17, 2010, 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma

Saturday December 18, 2010, 11:00 AM at Mannsville First Assembly of God Church, Mannsville, Ok.
Interment
Saturday December 18, 2010 at Rollins Cemetery, Mannsville, Ok.
