Welcome to

McClain County, Oklahoma

(Notice: If you would, please hit refresh on your browser with each visit as we are constantly adding new information, and want you to be able to see it all.).

Welcome to the McClain County, Oklahoma Genealogy site, part of Genealogy Trails History Group.  My name is Dale, and I live in Blanchard, OK.  Actually, I am not in McClain County, but since my address is Blanchard, and I live just 1/8 mile from the county line, it is a close call.

I have been working on my genealogy for many years, and love the fact, that with sites like these, we can keep the information free for other researchers.

I don't have ancestors from McClain County, but since I live here, hopefully I can help others with their search for information.

As time goes by, I will be adding a lot more information to these pages, so please be sure and check back often.

WE REGRET THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO DO PERSONAL RESEARCH FOR YOU.

All data we come across will be added to this website, so please keep checking back.

McClain County is located in central Oklahoma.

McClain County, created at 1907 statehood, incorporates 580.13 square miles of land and water. The name honors Charles M. McClain, a member of Oklahoma's 1906 Constitutional Convention. Cleveland County and a portion of Pottawatomie County border McClain County on the north, with Pontotoc on the east, Garvin on the south, and Grady on the west. At the end of the twentieth century incorporated towns included Blanchard, Byars, Cole, Dibble, Goldsby, Newcastle, Rosedale, Washington, Wayne, and Purcell served as the county seat.

McClain County was named after C. M. McClain..
