Obituary / Death Notices

H.A. "Moon" Mullins, 81, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial
Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Sherman Eastland officiating. Burial
will be in Llano Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mr. Mullins was born in Roger Mills County, Okla., to
Mac and Salley Blaylock Mullins. He was a former longtime farmer in the Butler, Okla., area. He married Emma Jane
Waters on Dec. 24, 1941, in Cheyenne, Okla. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past Christmas
Eve. He was a member of the Methodist Church. They came to Amarillo in 1956 and he was a mechanic for the city
of Amarillo until his retirement in January 1983. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ralph Mullins and Frank
Mullins, both of Amarillo; a brother, Tim Mullins of Arapaho, Okla.; four sisters, Agnes Lowry of Canute, Okla.,
Leona Byford of Yukon, Okla., Louise Tucker of Fairfield and Lavelle Allen of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and
six great-grandchildren.

Austin Grover
Morrow, of Portales, died Monday, October 5, 2009, at Sunset Villa Care
Center, Roswell, NM. He was born June 24, 1915, in Hammon, OK, to parents Sterling Lee Morrow and Ruth Hutton Morrow.
Austin is survived by his brother, S. L. Morrow (Alice). He is also is survived by his children, Danny (Bobbie
Jean), S.C. (Andrea), Marvin, Austella Berry (Ray), and Mark. He had ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Austin was a draftsman, inventor, farmer, poet, and songwriter. He worked for Boeing Aircraft in World War II building
B-29 bombers for the war effort. He was awarded two U.S. Patents for inventions and had over 200 copyrights for
songs and poetry. His 4-N-1 Morrow Peanut Inverter was recently placed in the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage
Museum, Las Cruces, NM. Austin was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, and his favorite books were the
Bible and the Biography of George Washington Carver by Holt. Austin donated his body to Science Care and asked
that no memorial service be held. The family's wish is that each person who knew him please remember him in his
own way.

Pearl Smith Burns
Services for Mrs. C. L. Burns were held in the Church of Christ , Thursday,
November 16, 1967, with Rev. George Franks officiating. Pearl Smith was born October 13, 1905
at Deport, Texas , the eldest child of Cleve and Ruthie Smith. She came to Cheyenne , Oklahoma with her parents
at the age of three months and has lived in Roger Mills County , with theexception of a year in Colorado
, until the time of her death, November 14, 1967.She was uniteds in marriage to Clifford L. Burns on October 20,
1922. To this union two sons were born, Leland and Bob. Pearl Burns became a member of the Church of Christ in
1925. Her whole purpose of living was centered around her church, her family, and her home. She is survived by her husband
Clifford L. Burns of Cheyenne ; two sons, Leland W. Burns of Cheyenne ; and Bobby J. Burns of Shreveport , Louisiana;
four grandchildren, Mickey, Judy, Jim and Lisa; her mother Mrs. Ruthie Smith of Cheyenne ; four brothers, and two
sisters, Raymcon C. Smith, Paul J.Smith, Mrs. Oscr Musick and Mrs. Dow Putman all of Cheyenne , Woodrow W.
Smith, Portales, New Mecixo; Clifford Smith, Emmitt , Idaho , and other relatives. Pall bearers were Collier
Tracy, Ab Lovett, Henry Hawkins, Orville Shaller, and Chink Beaty. Committal in Cheyenne Cemetery , Roger Mills
County , Oklahoma . Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne , OK .
